Summary
This chapter has necessarily been brief, and the reader is urged to use
the references for further study. Good control systems must be as sim-
ple as possible for the application. The ‘‘real-world’’ rule is that com-
plex systems will be simplified by operators to suit their understand-
ing, whether the modified system meets the original design intent or
not. Good documentation and operator training are essential.
