THE ROLE OF ENGLISH AS A GLOBAL LANGUAGE

Nowadays, the English has becoming more and more popular around the world is 
used as a common language even though there are some variations in habits, cultures, traditions, re-
gions and aspects. English has been accepted as the global language among the speakers of thousands 
of different languages.

As science and technology advance, tremendous changes are taking place in the lives of people 
around the world. As a result, the whole world has become a global village, and people must also 
maintain good relationships with others. Moreover, business, trade and commerce have become asso-
ciated with the language for international and business organizations in
most countries.
To maintain international relations in the fields of science, technology, business, education, trav

el, tourism, English serves a purpose as a global language. This language is mainly used for doing 
business and science as well as in higher education and tourism.
For example, for a career in travel, English is absolutely essential. As the international language 
of aviation, pilots and flight attendants must speak English. Even if you are not thrilled, having an 
accurate knowledge of the English language will provide you with the opportunity to communicate 
with customers and suppliers around the world.
English is a very effective language and has been proven by many native speakers and foreigners 
around the world. Statistics show that nearly a quarter of the world’s population is already fluent or 
fluent in English. Although there are more native speakers of Chinese, Chinese is still not a global 
language due to its complex letter system, grammar and spelling. Thus, for a language to become 
global, it depends little on the number of native speakers.
In addition, English helps to express different meanings. It contains many words with different 
meanings and different types of syntax, which helps the speaker to express them with great precision.
Since English plays a dominant role in almost all areas of the modern globalized world, it is nec-
essary to discuss its role as a global language. This document emphasizes the importance of English 
as a global language, as much of the world’s communication takes place in English. It also shows 
how English is widely used in research, business and education. For instance, for student who want 
to study abroad should definitely know this language in order to have a chance to study in other coun

tries. 
Since English is so widely spoken, many have taken up English as their second language. En-
glish has allowed a common communication means between people of different backgrounds. Hence, 
English has helped to diminish certain cultural barriers between nations. However, there are cultural 
differences between countries and nations. 
There is a need for a common language to communicate with today’s growing commerce and 
trade between companies from all over the world. Knowledge of the vocabulary and grammar of this 
language is extremely necessary in order to study abroad.
Obviously, most people around the world communicate with people from other regions in only 
one internationally recognized language, that is, English. English is the language that is almost used 
between an agent and an international company. Also negotiation and work on business with interna-
tional companies is extremely vital the main key is language. 
Many do not understand whether English is needed in the modern world. Howev-
er, it is no secret to anyone that today he plays an important role in employment. Peo-
ple who want to find a prestigious and highly paid position must have a good command of 
English. This is due to the fact that large firms often cooperate with foreign partners.

evance of learning English can also be explained by the rapid development of technology.

Thanks to the rapid development of the Internet, representatives of different nations began to closely 
interact on the Web. In order to understand each other, they use English.
To sum up, the significance of this language is high and all people can come across with dealing 
the language barrier through English language related to all aspects study work social media adver-
tisement politics and so on. English can be regarded as a global language, but it cannot be considered 
superior to other languages. Every single language has its special characteristics, ways of expression 
and it should be preserved and celebrated.
