WRITTEN SOURCES REFLECTING THE HISTORY OF KHOREZM'S 
EARLY MEDIEVAL STATEHOOD

ABSTRACT 
This article analyzes written and archaeological sources on the history of the early Middle Ages 
(IV-X centuries AD) in the ancient Khorezm region.  Comparative analysis of foreign sources on 
Khorezm  history  is  also  covered.    With  its  rich  history,  material  and  spiritual  culture,  great 
scientific  heritage,  it  plays  an  important  role  in  world  historical  development.    In  this  regard, 
there has always been a strong interest in learning about the history and culture of the country.  
Especially  in  the  early  Middle  Ages  (IV  -  X  centuries  AD),  Khorezm's  role  and  place  in  the 
history of Central Asia and in world culture is invaluable.
