Sharh Al-Hadeeth (SH) as a Method of Understanding Hadith
Islamic sciences began after the era of
tabi‟in
(Al-Baghdadi: 1982). According to al-Hanbali (2000), It was not
systematically organized, such as the existence of chapters and publications in this era. It functioned only as
individual reference material.
While in Malaysia,
hadith studies
have been around since the last five centuries (Suhaimi: 2006). It is one of the
important subjects in the process of religious understanding, especially in studies at mosque institutions. Audiences
are participating in this study, regardless of age and different qualifications and requirements. Anyone can follow
the course of study. The level of audience acceptance requires effective communication to understand the
hadith
.
According to (Wahyu H.A, Mohamad M.A.R, Abd. H. Borham, 2018),the description of the hadith is one of the
methods of communication of the hadith.The approaches
Sharh al-Hadeeth
(SH) identified from the efforts of the
scholars explain the text in the
Hadith
of the Prophet SAW.
(Haji Khaleefah, 2000) has stated that the knowledge of
Sharh al-Hadeeth
is a part of the knowledge in the
sciences of hadith. According to (Tash K.Z, 1985),
Sharh al-Hadeeth
is a knowledge related to the method of
explaining the meaning in the
Hadith
of the Prophet (SAW). It is based on the knowledge available in Arabic, a
method of Islamic jurisprudence proposition that corresponds to the level of human thinking ability. Whereas
(Bayanuni. F, 2007), explains the definitions of the science of
hadith
-inspired scholars' earlier
hadith
s. It has
received new definitions from contemporary figures, including discussions of all the traditional sciences in the
hadith
or today. (Bassam. K.S, 2015) states that
Sharh al-Hadeeth
is a knowledge of the problems and motives
related to the description of the
hadith
from its origins and origins, the details of the methods, methods, causes of
error in the
hadith
, and its relation to science, Islamic jurisprudence and
hadith
science in particular.
Among the comprehensive models in
Sharh al-Hadeeth
(SH) are works by Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani, whose work
is
Fath al-Bari Bi Sharh Sahih al-Bukhari
. The approach used by al-Asqalani is like a description of the authenticity
of a
hadith
, regardless of sanad and matan. All of the issues related to the sanad are detailed. The discussion on the
text of the
hadith
is very detailed, including the explanation of each word in the
hadith
. Similarly, aspects of the
content in the
hadith
text are highlighted in relation to Islamic jurisprudence, ethics and conclusions in the text of
the
hadith
There are three methods in the
Sharh al-Hadeeth
(SH) based on the
hadith
description, which is concise,
detailed, and straightforward. The first method, which is a short form of
hadith
literature, refers to descriptions of
specific aspects such as descriptions of rare words, descriptions of grammar, names of problematic narrators of
hadith
, from material aspects to explaining the true meaning of the
hadith
text and conclusions to the
hadith
. While
the second is most straightforward, but the descriptions of the
hadith
text remains in great detail. But some of the
descriptions are not detailed, but they are compact but simple. For example, the work of al-Nawawi is
