Anglicism in russian and hindi

Some Reasons for the use of anglicism:

The main reason for borrowing words is the need to name things and concepts. The following reasons for borrowing are also distinguished below:

1. 
   Absence of the corresponding concept and the development of a new object that has appeared in public life. In the nineties, Anglicism firmly entered in both Russia (due to USSR disintegration) and India (LPG Reforms, 1991); words, such as, computer, laptop, internet, website, file and in Hindi - ब्रांड, स्कूल, शेयर, basically words that did not have an equivalent in Russian or Hindi.
   
2. 
   A new word is a more convenient designation for earlier used phrases like “top-selling book (раскупаемая книга)” best – seller (бестселлер) “sharpshooter (меткий стрелок)” – sniper (снайпер), “runner on a short distance (бегун на короткие дистанции)” Sprinter (спринтер) “hotel for car travelers (гостиница для автотуристов)” Motel (мотель), “entrepreneurship (предпринимательская деятельность)” business (бизнес).
   Like in Hindi such as: एयर लाइन, एयरपोर्ट , वेंडर, प्रोटोकॉल, डिजिटल, क्वारंटीन, लॉकडाउन, कमेटी, सर्वे , चर्च, ब्रिगेड, क्वालीफाई, पार्क, अकादमी, सैनिटाइज, जोन, विकेट, चैंपियन, इंटरव्यू, ऑनलाइन, इंजीनियरिंग, स्‍कूल, फ़ीस, ट्रांसपोर्ट, सोशल मीडिया, मशीन, offline-ऑफलाइन, Digital-डिजिटल, internet connectivity- इंटरनेट कनेक्टिविटी, Payment System Operator- पेमेंट सिस्टम ऑपरेटर, Loan Settlement- लोन सेटलमेंट, Bank Defaulter- बैंक डिफॉल्टर, Airline Companies- एयरलाइन कंपनियां, Hotel and Steel-Cement Companies- होटल और स्टील-सीमेंट कंपनिया, Test rate- टरेस्ट रेट.

   Few of the borrowings have replaced (partially or completely) previously mastered or native Russian and Hindi words because they are easier to pronounce, shorter, and have a more specific meaning, for example, price list (instead of прейскурант; मूल्यसूची), image (имидж; इमेज) (instead of изображение; प्रतिकृति) etc.

   Borrowing new words due to the influence of foreign culture, dictated by the fashion for English words. As, the ‘trader’ alternately becomes a ‘merchant’, then a ‘businessman’, and the person handling the work i.e. ‘dealer’. Most of these words due to their relevance quickly became common and entered the active vocabulary. Today, the number of borrowed words in Russian and in Hindi is more than thousands.
   
5. 
   Clarification or detailing of an existing concept. Words of comfort (with native Russian — convenience), service (if native Russian — service), etc.
   

All those English words appearing on the pages of Russian and Hindi newspapers can be divided into three groups:

1. 
   English words that usually do not have equivalent in Russian and Hindi. It is a continuous and natural phenomenon that speakers first can't find a comparable/equivalent word in their language to allude to a new idea which originates from another culture, in this way, the sentiment of the absence of lexical equivalence arises. In this manner, the reception of new items or ideas can involve the borrowing from others.
   
2. 
   English words that have equivalent in Russian and Hindi and are often incomprehensible to readers. The use of these words in many cases is not necessary and often only complicates the perception and understanding of the text for older readers.
   
3. 
   Words printed in English letters/roman script such as the e-mail address of the editorial office and the addresses of advertisers’ like- Instagram, Facebook, MySpace, Selfies, Viber etc. have their direct representation in Russian and Hindi language, without any changes. These words are used directly without any translation in Russian as well as in hindi such as инстаграм , Facebook, MySpace, Селфи, вибер, फेसबुक (Facebook); व्हाट्सएप नंबर (WhatsApp); यूट्यूब (YouTube); ट्विटर (Twitter); सेल्फी (Selfie) etc.
   

Here are some examples and their explanation of the use of anglicisms in Russian and Hindi:
