INTRODUCTION (Abstract of DSc dissertation)
The aim of the research work is to analyze the changes, mistakes and shortcomings, as well as some problems, their root causes and consequences on the basis of studies of socio-economic and cultural life of Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya regions, which are located in the southern territories of Uzbekistan in 1945-1991.
The object of research is the history of socio-economic and cultural life in the southern territories of Uzbekistan in 1945-1991.
The subject of the study is to cover the processes of changes in the socio-economic and cultural life of the southern territories of Uzbekistan in 1945-1991, problems, their causes and consequences.
The scientific novelty of the research is:
There studied the unilateral development of the economy of the southern territories of Uzbekistan in 1945-1991, the development of industry was mainly limited to the field of raw materials on the basis of archival documents and analysis of scientific literature, which were introduced into circulation for the first time.
During the study period, the processes related to the development of protected and gray lands in the region, shifts in agriculture, the formation of cotton monoculture and the deterioration of the ecological situation in the region were covered objectively based on reliable sources.
The changes that took place in the social life of the population during this period, the content of the achievements and problems in everyday life are revealed.
It also summarizes the achievements and accumulated experience in the activities of educational and cultural institutions in the region. The consequences of the Soviet government's ideological influence on educational and cultural institutions are explained.
Implementation of research results: Based on the conclusions and recommendations of the study of socio-economic and cultural life of southern Uzbekistan in 1945-1991, the policy of the Soviet regime, as in the whole republic, had a negative impact on the history and culture of the southern territories, due to the predominance of creative and aspirational mood of the people to education helped to justify that they passed these tests with perseverance (Act No. 01 / 07-1658 of the Spirituality and Enlightenment Center of the Republican Council from December 12, 2019). This allowed for a more in-depth study of the history of the southern territories in the second half of the twentieth century;
Due to the specialization of the republic's economy within the Soviet Union economy, Uzbekistan has become the center's raw material base for cotton. Data on the relatively strong impact of this process on the economy of the southern regions served to enrich the Soviet-era funds of the Termez State Museum Reserve (Certificate No.89 of the Republican Scientific-Methodological Center for the Organization of Cultural Institutions dated February 19, 2020). These information increased researches, masters course and bachelor students' interest in studying the history of the oasis;
The information contained in the dissertation played an important role in revealing the essence of the communist ideology and the processes of the Soviet state in 1947-1953 and the 80s of the XX century «cotton business» (Certificate №52 of the Museum of Repression Victims at the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated June 25, 2020). Copies of archival documents provided by the dissertation, memoirs of unjustly accused in the cotton case and oral history materials played an important role in further enriching the exposition of the Museum of Repression Victims in the structure of Termez State University;
The scientific and theoretical ideas put forward in the dissertation were used in the preparation of the program «Journey to the Museum», which was broadcast on the TV channel History of Uzbekistan. (Certificate No.01-40-2626 of the National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan dated December 12, 2019).
The implemented scientific results served as a resource basis for popularization of the history of Surkhandarya and Kashkadarya regions in the second half of the XX century.
