ABSTRACT
. The type, quality, volume of things in the 
surrounding do not always have the same signs. They can be of different 
degrees. The signs of these things are determined by the degrees of 
comparison.

1. INTRODUCTION. 
Both in Karakalpak and in English there are 
3 degrees of comparison ( positive, comparative, superlative). However,
in the process of teaching English, comparing these two languages, 
relating to different linguistic systems, one can observe along with 
differences a number of similarities between them. 
1. In Karakalpak a simple form is used without adding any ending in a 
simple root form. For example: ko’k, ulken, kishi, qatti. A simple degree 
will be the basis for the formation of other degrees. In modern English 
degrees of comparison are formed in two ways, namely, the morphology

is capacious and the syntax of the network. A simple degree in English 
you can compare two or more subjects with each other. 
2. In the Karakalpak the comparative degree is formed synthetically by 
adding the following affixes: iraq, -irek, -law, -lew, -g’ilt, -gilt, -shil, -shil, 
-g’iltim, -giltim, -g’ish, -gish; For example: 
aqlaw, ko’kshil, sarg’iltim, 
kishirek
.
The value of comparative degree is also given analytically by the use of 
the comparable word in the instrumental case with the adjective following 
it. For example: 
Ustaz a’ken’nen ulli. O’limnen kushli na’rse joq.
