Aims
Educational aim: to improve learners’ ability to read for specific information; to be aware of family and its value.
Practical aim: to expand pupils vocabulary particularly in the area of the given context and extend communicative competence.
Upbringing aim:developing learners’ ability to use the reading, speaking, listening and writing skills.
Materials: Text –book, work book, computers and New Fly high 5 th grade, projector; laptop; video; handouts
Objectives:

  • To help pupils improve and develop their reading skill

  • To give learners the tools and strategies to types of reading.

  • To prepare pupils to correct the mistakes and know about family

Detailed process of the lesson
Warm up activity.
( For speaking)
Materials: A mini game which named “Can’t say YES or NO”, a certain number of coins or squares of paper
Objectives: To begin the lesson with attentively.
Procedure: learners give some questions about their family to each other.
Time: 10 minutes.
Can't Say Yes or No

In this game everyone is given a certain number of coins or squares of paper (about 10). Everyone moves around the room starting conversations and asking each other questions. The only rule is that you cannot say the words YES or NO. If you accidentally say one of these words, you have to give a coin or square to the person who you said it to. Try to trick each other by asking questions that you would almost always answer with a yes or no. here they can ask some questions about family. For instance Is you father doctor? Next pupil can’t answer with yes or no.
Example:
Pupil A : Is your father doctor?
Pupil B: He is doctor. ( correct)
Yes, He is doctor ( she or he lose the game because he or she use the word “ yes”.
Each pupil must answer at least 7 or 8 questions without using “ yes; yeah; no”
Then they win and be awarded with good marks.

Pre – activity
Materials: handouts
Objectives: Entering to the subject and understanding the form of the new words.
Procedure: Teacher gives some handout to do the task for checking their vocabulary about family members.
Time: 10 minute

Task. Make a family tree put down correct word under the pictures of family members.
