What is a lesson plan?

A lesson plan is a framework for a lesson. If we imagine that a lesson is like a journey, then the lesson plan is the map. It shows where we start, where we finish and the route to take to get there. If we clear put it more


lesson plans are the product of teachers’ thoughts about their classes; what they hope to achieve and how they hope to achieve it. They are usually, though not always, in written form. Very experienced teachers may be able to go into a class with just a short list of notes or even with the plan in their head.
Whatever the level of experience though, it is very important that all teachers take the time to think through their lessons before they enter the classroom.


What is an action plan? How do we plan our actions for the lesson we have?


Action Plan for Teacher s is a practical guide for teachers of English. It contains tips and suggestions for the English classroom that are suitable for the newly qualified teacher working in a language school, as well as the experienced teacher working in secondary education. Why is planning important?


To be honest, i can say that planning something before doing the thing is crusial in any time. Just we know that maybe at that moment we can't concentrate our conception or we will not have any clear idea what we are doing or why and how to do it. As well as, without some kind of planning, a lesson could be just as chaotic and could leave the students with no clear idea of what they were doing or why. This kind of uncertainty is not good for effective learning or class discipline. One of the most essential reasons to plan is that the teacher needs to identify his or her aims for the lesson.
• Planning is a sign of professionalism. Students expect teachers to be professional. If we are prepared, the students can tell. They also know if we are not prepared. Planning is a way to help gain the respect of our students.
• By planning we are considering our teaching situation and our particular students. However good our teaching material or course book may be, it is unlikely that it was prepared for our particular students. Planning gives us the opportunity to tailor our material and teaching to our class.
• As we have seen, lessons need to have certain elements and features such as ESA. Planning encourages teachers to consider these points and ensure they are included in the lesson.


Do you think using mother tongue is important during a lesson? If yes, when should we use?


Everyone has a different opinion about when, how and how often a teacher should use the mother tongue of her/his students. It clearly makes sense to use English as much as possible in the classroom if we want our students to progress rapidly. It is surprising how little the mother tongue needs to be used if we keep our classroom language to a minimum and use plenty of non-spoken devices such as gesture, mime and pictures. Make it clear to students when you expect them to use English and encourage and praise them at all times when they make serious effort to practise their English in class.


In a lesson which one is more important: pronunciation or grammar? Give your opinions with facts.


Pronunciation is vital to proper communication because the incorrect use of pronunciation inevitably leads to the message being misunderstood by the recipient. Pronunciation of the letter sounds in words as well as syllable emphasis on parts of words will more often than not change the words meaning and context drastically thereby irreversibly altering the meaning of the sentence being communicated. One of the important aspect is, the proper use of English pronunciation inclines to highlight and add value to an individual speaking English. Consider the following: in a situation where a student’s grammar and vocabulary is exceptionally good, he or she may be able to write good English. But, if that same student lacks a fundamental knowledge of pronunciation despite having an excellent knowledge of grammar, etc. his or her communication in English will be severely impeded. He or she will be able to write in English, but will not be able to construct a meaningful sentence when speaking and thus fails at communicating a message. So, when new language is introduced, the meaning must be established. This can generally be done by ‘eliciting’. If students are expected to use the new language, it is essential that the correct pronunciation is taught.In my life , I think I must learn the grammar not pronunciation.I am wrong. It is for only entering the university.whreas, I faced the difficulty for my speaking and pronunciation. Not only grammar , but also pronunciation is important for the young. So i can say that they are equal.
