Putting into practice the procedure of the lesson

Step 1 Organizational moment
Activity: a)Asking and answering the questions;
b) Do “Season mosaic”
Objectives: To motivate learners;
To create friendly English atmosphere
Interaction pattern: plenary, individually
Required resources: pictures of the four seasons slide show 1, projector, mosaic picture, projector, laptop, whiteboard
Time: 5 min
a)Greeting: Asking and answering the questions
Teacher asks general questions from pupils. Questions are answered and teacher should pay attention to the accuracy of the replies and correct grammar and pronunciation mistakes.
Good morning, pupils! How are you? What is your name? How old are you?
b) Warming up: Do “Season mosaic”

Teacher asks the pupils to do the mosaic. Having finished it ask the names of four seasons. Have a brief talk about four seasons, the weather and activities we can do in those seasons. It is winter (spring, autumn, summer). It is cold. It is rainy.


Step 2 Checking the homework
Activity: a)Strong pupils: Make up sentences
b) Slower pupils: Guess the fruit
Objective: to revise previous material Interaction pattern: plenary
Required resources: projector, ”Interactive Tutorial - Learn Your Vegetables At Old MacDonald”, vegetable flashcards and toys, laptop, scarf
Time: 5 min


Setting up: Teacher tells the pupils you are going to give a sticker per pupil who will be active during the lesson. Say:”If you can get 5-6-7 stickers, your mark will be ‘5’. If you can get 2-3-4 stickers, your mark will be ‘4’. If you get 1 or no sticker, your mark will be ‘3’. So you are smart pupils. Try your best!
Strong pupils: Teacher shows turn by turn the fruit flashcards. Automatically, strong pupils tell the names of the fruits faster. Pupils are given the flashcards. Teacher asks them to make up their own sentences and gives them one minute.
Slower pupils: Teacher calls the slower pupils to the center of the classroom on the carpet. She asks them to sit down around the toys put beforehand. Then she ties a pupil`s eyes with a scarf in order not to see a toy s/he will take in her/his hand. Teacher asks pupil to guess the vegetable. She leads the pupils to make up some sentences with your assistance. And vice versa.
Step 3 Presenting
Activity 1a Look, listen and say.
Objective: to introduce a song about apples
Interaction pattern: plenary
Required resources: projector, sound device, laptop, CD, apple picture
Time: 3 min
Setting up:
Pre: Teacher asks the pupils to listen to a song about apples. She translates “yummy” (mazali/вкусный) and “tummy” (qorincha/животик).
While: Pupils sing the song along together.
Post: After that teacher asks the pupils to translate “I like apples”, and stick a picture with the description of an apple on the blackboard.
Step 4 Presenting new topic and vocabulary
Activity 1b Look, listen and repeat.
Objectives: 1) to introduce and consolidate the new vocabulary;
Interaction pattern: plenary, individually
Required resources: projector, Slide show 1
Time: 8 min
Setting up:
Pre: Further, teacher says that we love not only apples but the other fruits as well. Tell them fruits are very yummy. She gets them aware that they contain lots of vitamins inside and they are very useful for our health. We should eat more and more fruits. Teacher asks them whether they know the fruits shown on the whiteboard.
While: While working on the main part of the activity teacher asks questions for consolidation about the fruits and their colours described by Slide show1 step by step:
What’s this? It is a red apple.
Step 5 Presenting and practicing
Activity 2 Play “Flies”.
Objective: to increase and develop pupils’ vocabulary
Interaction pattern: plenary, individually
Required resources: whiteboard, pictures of some fruits, sticks.
Time: 8 min
The teacher says the names of next game is “FLY”. Teacher asks two pupils to come to the blackboard and will say the names of fruits and pupils should bit them. Who is the faster, he/she will be winner.
Step 6 Presenting
Activity 3: Look and do.
Objective: to do physical exercise and energize the pupils’ new warm-up activity.
Interaction pattern: plenary
Required resources: laptop, CD of the book, sound device Time: 4 min
Pre: Teacher explains to the pupils that they shouldn’t move after the command “stop”. If there is no DVD, she should ask the pupils to do any warm-up activity.
While: Pupils sing the song along and dance together.
Tape script:
Stand up! Sit down! And dance! Dance! Dance! Sleep! Sleep!...
Post: Teacher asks the pupils to breathe deeply 3 times and to relax for 5-7 seconds. It will be the end of the energizing activity.
Step 7 Practicing
Activity 4: Doing crossword.
Objective: to consolidate vocabulary
Interaction pattern: plenary
Required recourses: fruit crosswords Time: 5 min
Teacher gives the crossword sheets which is prepared beforehand and explains what they will do. Which group finishes the first, it will be the winner of this game.

Step 8 Practicing
Activity: Optional Activity 5: Matching activity.
Objective: to match the words with the pictures Interaction pattern: plenary
Required resources: vocabulary fruit worksheet Time: 5 min
Teacher shows the picture on the monitor through the projector and asks the pupils orally one by one.

Steps 9 Estimating and marking
Activity: counting the stickers
Objective: to encourage young learners to work harder to learn the language
Interaction pattern: plenary, individually
Required resources: stickers, fruit shapes
Time: 3 min
Setting up: Pupils count given stickers. They will determine who get which mark according to the quantity of the shapes. Teacher gives the pupils who got 5-6-7 stickers orange shapes-5.
She gives the pupils who got 2-3-4 stickers apple shapes-4.
The pupils who got 1 or no stickers are given
pear shapes-3.
While assessing teacher should use lots of encouraging phrases like “Good”, “Great”, “OK”, “Try more”, “You are smart”, “At the next lessons you can get better marks if you try.”, applauses and so on.
Steps 10 Giving homework
Activity: Revising.
Objective: to revise today`s learnt material
Interaction pattern: plenary Required resources: Books Time: 2 min
1) Teacher asks the pupils to ask their parents assisting on their home task: revising today`s learnt material from parents corner at page 103.
Marking: Give the pupils stickers. Encourage them:”Applauses”, “Great”,”Good”, “OK”, “Try more”.
