Objectives:
to introduce new words and practice pronunciation
to enable students to use the expression “I like … “
to be able to learn the differences between singular and plural nouns.
Materials: pictures, a blackboard, flash cards, CD- player, two baskets, natural fruits.
Procedure:
Organizing moment: 4 minutes
Greeting
Calling the register
Asking the homework : 5 minutes
-Numbers one to ten (matching the pictures and the numbers)
III. New material:
Listening task: 20 minutes
Objectives:
- To teach, to introduce new words
- To practice the pronunciation of the words
Materials: flash cards, CD, pictures
Pre-listening activity: Stick the pictures of the fruits on the blackboard and show a fruit and say the name. For example: I like an apple.
And show two apples and say: I like apples.
A banana –I like bananas
An orange- I like oranges
A strawberry - strawberries
Grapes- I like grapes
A watermelon- I like watermelons
A cherry- I like cherries
A peach- I like peaches
While-listening activity: ask your pupils to listen to the song “fruits”
It’s yummy, yummy, yummy, to my tummy, tummy, tummy, all right!
Apples, apples, I like apples,
Bananas, bananas, I like bananas.
Because they are yummy, yummy, to my tummy, tummy, all right!
Oranges, oranges, I like oranges,
Strawberries, strawberries, I like strawberries.
Because they are yummy, yummy, to my tummy, tummy
Grapes, grapes, I like grapes,
Watermelon, watermelon, I like watermelon.
Because it’s yummy, yummy, to my tummy, tummy, all right!
Post-listening activity: distribute the pictures of the fruits to pupils. And ask them to show the fruit which is give= during listening to the song. Ask pupils to listen once more again.
2. Reading task
Time: 15 minutes
Objectives:
-to practice telling the names of fruits;
-to learn the vocabulary, the expression “I like”;
Materials: pictures, flash cards, two baskets, blackboard
Activity 1
Stick the pictures of the fruits on the board. Point a picture on the board. Ask pupils to tell the name of the fruit.
Activity 2
Show a fruit and say: “I like … “. Pupils should say the name of the fruit and end the sentence:
“I like an apple.”
”I like apples.”
Activity 3
Put natural fruits or made models of an apple, a banana, an orange, a strawberry, grapes, a watermelon on the table. Divide pupils into two groups. Pupils should take the fruit which has been said and put it into his/her group’s basket. Pay attention that there is only one fruit with this name. This task may be repeated once more again.
