Examination of Soil Structure Production within the Scope of
Regulations Abstract
With industrialization, urban population has increased. Over-urbanization
creates a pressure on ecosystems and natural resources. Therefore in
Ecological Design, energy and resource use and material selection are
important. In this context, earth is an economic and ecological material,
do not generate waste and provide energy and resource efficiency.
However, it is seen that there are problems originating from the
regulations and standards in the production of earth structures in Turkey.
Current regulations and standards need to be developed to include
different earth construction techniques.
In the study, different earth construction techniques are examined and
examples of modern earth structures which are produced with these
techniques are given. In Turkey, only the adobe technique is allowed due
to the insufficiency of regulation and standards. In this context, the earth
construction techniques were examined and tried to establish an Earth
Structure Production Steps Scheme for Turkey with these techniques.
