Corner of Quantico & 23rd

Large, old trees over sidewalks need tree maintenance (large dead branches could fall)
No address on property. It is on 22nd St between 6101 and 6113 bike path (J. Marshall)
This property is a disgrace to the neighborhood. The lawn is filled with trash - old lawnmowers, broken chairs, broken exercise machine, plastic bins, traffic cones, pile of wood, etc. The porch is also filled with more of the same. The grass is usuall
2 homes on 23rd St between Lexington & Madison St

- Demanding that the Virginia Power hire better qualified tree firms to "trim" tree limbs near power lines
- "Retreeing" neighborhoods
1. County should invest in greenway strip by acquiring adjacent residences as they become available.
2. Stop light or traffic calming at Lee Hwy and Quantico and Lee Hwy and John Marshall'
1. Underground wires
2. More reliable power (outages frequent in less few years)
3. Water runoff - 22nd Road North has no sidewalks or sewers. Water from that street runs down 22nd Rd (hill) to Illinois, flows north to sewer at Illinois & 23rd Street - a very long distance. It mixes with Illinois and 23rd St North - too much H2O
Add a traffic calming speed hump between 22nd RD N and Patrick Henry on Harrison St
Add sidewalks to North Madison to narrow street from 22nd St. to Lee Hwy will slow traffic as well as making safe walking streets.
Advise neighbors who plant trees in public strip by sidewalk about regulations in planting vegetation in public areas. Many plantings are not suitable for planting at the curb.
All street lights should be upgraded to brighter & more energy efficient sodium vapor lights
Better street lighting. It is a high traffic area & since there are not always sidewalks on these streets - VERY DANGEROUS FOR PEDESTRIANS. More lights & sidewalks!
Calming - Illinois St. 2400 block
Complete the sidewalk on N Illinois St between 22nd St North and 23rd St North. It is unacceptable that our children must walk in the street to get to the bus. Illinois St is too hazardous with the number of cars that pass by every morning and afternoon.
Continuation of speed bumps on N. Harrison St. The speed limit is not enforced and people fly down the street once there are no more speed bumps.
Control dog owners. They do not pick up after their dogs. I walk out of my home, to the sidewalk and the patch of grass between the sidewalk and street is a dog dumping ground. People visit my home, step in the crap and bring it inside. I have tried every spray known to man. It does not stop. Recommend we fill the grass strip with concrete & end up with a wider sidewalk.
Curbing on John Marshall Dr (along greenway) between 22nd Rd & 23rd to prevent traffic from driving on the greenway
Curbs and gutters are lacking in some areas
Cut shrubbery back from sidewalk on s. side of Lee Hwy from John Marshall to Powhatan. Lee Hwy is heavy and fast driving traffic. A full use of existing sidewalk is needed.
Enforcement of right of way for pedestrians in crosswalks
Fix clogged drainage of storm sewer by driveway by CVS/auto parts store (driveway into Illinois Street)
Get rid of existing street lighting and upgrade
Get rid of speed bumps! I can't believe that my tax money gets spent on these obstacles that damage my car
Historic preservation designation for 2200-2300 blocks of North Kentucky Street, which have 12 original Pompano homes from 1948-1949. Designation could be non-restrictive.
Historic Neighborhood signs
I know you can't do anything about is but the "castle" at Kensington & 24th can't possibly comply with County regs. If it does, the regs need changing. It not only is the ugliest house in Arlington, it is way to big for this neighborhood!!!
Improve the ball field and park near Overlee Way Community Center
Install a median with trees along Ohio St between Washington Blvd and bridge over Rte 66
Install sidewalks; control house styles; house on 1925 Madison st. should not have been approved - it doesn't fit the neighborhood style!
It would be nice to have gas light replace the dim, blinking streetlights.
Moore clearly labeled crosswalks with signs warning motorists
More complete sidewalks; however, tree preservation should come first
More pedestrian friendly measures along and across Lee Hwy.
Need another small park
More shade trees
More sidewalks
More sidewalks and/or continuity of sidewalks
More sidewalks on bust streets especially N. Nottingham. Speed bump would be helpful also.
More speed bumps or slower drivers. They won't slow down.
More street trees in our area. More public land - such as undeveloped rights of way.
More traffic calming on Lexington St north of Lee Hwy - between Lee Hwy and 26th ST. Cars stop at the stop sign at 26th & Lexington St and when they see the light at Lee Hwy is green they go as fast as they can to try to make the light before it turns red. There are several families with small children living along this section of Lexington and it is a big safety issue.
more trees, cherry trees along bike path/greenway
Need Pure Station to beautify property
Need speed bumps on 26th st. north between Lexington and Jefferson. A lot of children, walkers, and bikers on this street. Cars speed too fast. I moved here 6 months ago and I don't understand why our street doesn't have speed bumps.
Neighborhood signage ("Leeway Overlee Neighborhood" + date of founding)
New houses are too huge!
No more huge houses on tiny lots
Not all the streets have sidewalks which would make it safer for children & anyone walking
Nottingham St is one of the few streets connecting Lee Hwy & Washington Blvd. It lacks sidewalks and cars are speeding. It is just a matter of time, but an accident will eventually happen. Try to walk on it at dawn and you will fear for your life!
On our street, repaving (w/o installation of sidewalks)
Parking lot expanded at Lee Center which was financed but never started years ago.
Pavement of the pedestrian right of way between Powhatan and N. 22nd St (for strollers, wagons & bicyclists).
More crosswalk markers on Washington Blvd for people walking to the Metro.
Better tot-lot/shade area at Lee Rec Center.
Pedestrian bridge over Lee Highway somewhere - maybe at John Marshall or better crosswalk & maybe a traffic flashing signal to remind motorists to yield to pedestrians crossing at crosswalks on Lee Hwy
Pressure put on businesses (e.g. Nail Salon at top of Lexington & Lee Hwy) to clean up and fix up (e.g., paint) buildings and properties.
Proper drainage of water - water drainage a problem since footprints of homes have changed with new construction patterns. Water is flooding in areas of our property where it did not when we first purchased our property.
put a wide medium in John Marshall and line it with trees
Put utilities underground - would make for real improvement and cut cost of upkeep.
Reminders to homeowners that trash cans & recycling bins should NOT be put on curb BEFORE 4pm of day prior to pickup.
Resurface N Nottingham St
Sidewalks
Sidewalks are needed
Sidewalks everywhere
Sidewalks on N 26th St between Lexington and Harrison St plus a safe way for pedestrians to cross N Harrison St on 26th St. There are many people going to Yorktown, the playground, and the plaza and it's really dangerous for pedestrians currently.
Sidewalks would be great - water runoff/ice an issue
Sidewalks!! (Madison St) 4-way stop signs at all 4-way intersections. Something to slow cars down. There are a lot of young kids.
Slow trraffic on 26th street - perhaps traffic circle at 26th and John Marshall.
Some of the big trees seem old. There have been no new trees planted along roadways
Speed bump on 22nd North between Harrison and George Mason. At rush hour this stretch of 22nd St is a "cut through" to avoid traffic lights on Lee Hwy. Cars race up and down the road.
Speed bumps & narrowed intersections are NOT effective for slowing people down - don't rally for more to be installed
Speeding on 22nd St between Lexington & Nottingham - not sure if that's something this group would help deal with, but it's a huge problem - especially with cut-through traffic to Metro/66 and school bus stops
speeding on N. Illinois St. is problem with all the children in the area
Stop sign at 22nd St & Madison St
Stop the McMansions
Streets have huge potholes on N 22nd Rd 5400 Block
Stronger restrictions on building height - 3-story houses are out of character with neighborhood (22nd St near Quantico)
The Lee Center could have an overhaul of outdoor grounds, incl. the park area.
The most pressing problem is the lack of sidewalks cited in #6. This is a school bus stop and the lack of sidewalk on this portion of Illinois makes it extremely hazardous (for adults, too).
Top of the hill on 22nd Road by Nottingham - forsythia bushes grow over the sidewalk, pushing pedestrians into the street. Forsythia should be cut down & shade trees planted.
Traffic abatement - to slow it down on 23rd St between Nottingham & John Marshall
Traffic calming between Lee Hwy & 23rd St
traffic calming on Harrison street
Traffic circle on N Illinois for 24th St to slow down traffic
Trees - appropriate for s (comment not completed)
We need sidewalks
Would like full sidewalk south of Lee Center. With steep grade, visibility is poor (22nd Street).
Would like speed breakers on N. 26th between Harrison and Lexington
