INTRODUCTION
Our President Sh.M.Mirzayoyev says that improving foreign languages in our country is wide sphere in our country and he said that “Standart of International demands of learning foreign languages in our country is necessary for our national educational system”[1,15].
The 20th century was like no time period before it. Einstein, Darwin, Freud, and Marx were just some of the thinkers who profoundly changed the Western Culture. These changes took distinct shape in the literature of the 20th century. Modernism, a movement that was a radical break from 19th century Victorianism, led to post-modernism, which emphasized self-consciousness and pop art. While 20th-century literature is a diverse field covering a variety of genres, there are common characteristics that changed literature forever [2,279].
Actuality of the research: The relevance of the literature of this period is that in the history of the world there have been many changes and incredible things. Examples include world wars, civil and tribal conflicts, and other space wars. But in spite of such difficult conditions, the fact that the artists of that period were engaged in literature and art testifies to the relevance of the literature of that period. Another relevance of the literature of that period was that the creators of that period made very rare works, stories, novels, short stories, in general, great innovations in all genres of literature. That is why today's readers are interested in the rare, unique works created in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and try to study them diligently.
Aim of the work: The main purpose of studying the literature of that period is that the creators of this period created many unique works. Therefore, we aim to provide information about the life of that period, socio-economic development, human relations, and other interesting information through these works. The purpose of our study of English literature in the late 19th and early 20th centuries is that the works of that period fully cover the events, contradictions, and disagreements of the world wars. Because the works of that time were so interesting and unique, today everyone, young and old, is interested in reading them. From this point of view, since those works also attracted us, we also set out to study the literature of that period.
