CHEMISTRY.

Chemistry is a science of substances, their structure, their properties and the reactions that change them into other substances. Chemistry is a great and complex subject.

Substances may exist in any of the three states. They may exist as solids, liquids or gases. Sulphur, iron, silver are solids at an ordinary temperature, bromine and mercury are liquids in the same conditions and oxygen and hydrogen are gases. But solid substances may become liquids if we heat them to a proper temperature. Liquids turn into gases at very high temperatures.
Elements and compounds. All substances can be divided into two great classes, namely, elements and compounds.
An element is an indecomposable substance, all compounds are substances which consist of two or more different substances, so they can be decomposed into two or more simple substances. Compounds are decomposible substances. Water can be decomposed into oxygen and hydrogen.
Elements may be metallic and non-metallic. Nitrogen and carbon are non-metals, but lead and tin are metals.

THE NATIONAL FLAG OF THE REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN.


The flag of our country is a symbol of the sovereignty of the Republic . The national flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan represents the country internationally when official delegations from Uzbekistan visit foreign countries, as well as at conferences, world exhibitions and sports competitions. The national flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan is a right-angled colored cloth consisting of three horizontal stripes: blue, white and green.
Blue is the symbol of the sky and water, which are the sources of life. Mainly blue was the colour of the state flag of Temur. White is the traditional symbol of peace good luck, as Uzbek people say “ Оq yol “ . Green is the colour of nature and new life and good harvest. Two thin red stripes symbolize the power of life. There is a new moon which symbolizes the newly independent republic. There are twelve stars which represent the 12 provinces in Uzbekistan.
