Luck plays a massive role in our daily lives. Why 
are some people lucky while others are unlucky? 
Well, it turns out that there are some scientific 
secrets which you can use to improve your luck. 
Just over a month ago, a friend turned up at a 
party with a scientist she knew. We started talking 
in the kitchen about the bad luck I had been 
experiencing recently. The scientist told me I was 
in luck because that was one of her favourite 
areas of study! She explained that many of her 
colleagues believe that being lucky is the result 
of your mental focus and attitude. Suppose you 
could intentionally attract more luck by changing 
your focus, how would you do it exactly? In this 
blog post we’re going to look at three eff ective 
methods which you can easily take on to help 
improve your luck! 
Positive thinking
If you believe that you are lucky, it will actually 
bring you luck because you’ll start to notice more 
opportunities in your life. If you’re a person who 
sees a glass as half full and not half empty, you are 
already a positive thinker! Studies have shown 
that optimistic people are less stressed and tend 
to live longer. Notably, they are also more likely to 
win things, like the lottery, simply because their 
positive attitude means that they play more than 
people who believe they are unlucky! So, the next 
time you lose and someone tells you ‘better luck 
next time!’ - don’t give up and make sure that there 
really is a next time. Surely the one thing you don’t 
want to be saying aft er seeing the lottery results is: 
If I had bought a ticket with my lucky numbers, I 
would have won the lottery tonight!
