New Kent Island – Annapolis- Baltimore Bus Route Proposed

Public Meeting Nov. 15th
STEVENSVILLE – Maryland Department of Transportation’s MTA is proposing new Express Commuter Bus service on line Nos. 210 and 215 to operate between Baltimore, Annapolis, and Kent Island. Both northbound and southbound services will operate via high speed utilizing Interstate 97. This proposed contracted service will operate on non-holiday weekdays only, effective on or about March 1, 2017.

"I'm very excited that the MTA is going to be able to restart commuter bus routes between Kent Island in Queen Annes County and Annapolis and Baltimore. With the majority of residents traveling out of Queen Annes County to work every day these new routes should meet the need for commuters to be able to park their car and travel in style on a commuter bus to key job centers in our state,” said Paul Comfort, MTA Administrator and former Queen Anne’s County Commissioner. “This new commuter bus route is part of Governor Hogan's commitment to improving access to jobs around the state of Maryland."

Comfort said that a public hearing will be held Tuesday, November 15 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Kent Island Senior Center to give interested persons the opportunity to comment on the proposed new service.

According to an MTA press release, proposed line Nos. 210 and 215 will provide numerous connections to Annapolis Transit bus routes stopping at the Westfield Annapolis Mall and Local Bus, Light Rail, and Metro Subway services in Baltimore.

Details of each proposed bus route are listed at https://mta.maryland.gov/content/public-hearings-new-proposed-commuter-bus-lines-210-215.
