WHAT IS THE COURSE? - Gets you to investigate and reflect about a range of global issues from different perspectives – the personal, local, national and global
- Multi-disciplined: you will study everything from sport to climate change to law
- Skills based: you will develop a range of skills, including planning, research, collaboration, evaluation, reasoning, critical thinking and communication skills
- Emphasises cross-cultural collaboration – at times you will carry out individual research into a topic of your choice, but you will also work on a group project, involving 2 or 3 other students from the class, and students in other schools and countries

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED? - 70% internally assessed coursework
- 30% externally assessed exam
- Coursework:
- Two pieces of Individual Research that each result in a final report (marked out of 40 and worth 20% each of the IGCSE)
- One Group Project that results in a practical outcome and report, which is also then individually evaluated (Group report marked out of 20 and the Individual evaluation marked out of 40; combined worth 30% of the IGCSE)
- Exam:
- One 1hr 15m exam worth 30% of the IGCSE
WHAT FORM DO THE REPORTS, AND ASSESSMENT OF THEM, TAKE? - Set a question to investigate
- Identify the issues involved, looking at them from
different perspectives
- Explore the causes, effects and current situation
- Identify and evaluate possible scenarios
- Explore possible courses of action
- Self-evaluation: what have I learnt, or what might I change about my life as a result of my study?
