Entry 4: Reflective writing

The process of pedagogical practice was a large teaching and learning process that it could create opportunities for me to learn how to teach and treat pupils and to get much experience as well as to get know about different methods which I can use in my future job. During the months from February till 14 th April I was able to observe and practice of teaching pupils of the school №2 in Samarkand district. I chose 1st classes because it was related with my diploma work. After the chose of the class I fell somehow fear and hesitation because they are very young, playful and enthusiast. I am afraid not to be able to control pupils. After beginning of the passive practice observed not only English teachers' whereas I learnt other teachers' behave, their tone of voice and methods which is used by them. Furthermore, in passive practice I observed pupils behavior, their knowledge and I learnt their learning styles as I thought it would be useful for my lesson for this class.

On the 8th February I wanted to teach pupils despite of the period of passive practice and the topic of the day was "Revision" it was not easy to deal with children in the English language because I should define their levek and interests for the next lessons' materials. as my coursemates said had some mistakes that I had to realize and correct in my future teaching process. Because of my emotions I was in a hurry doing activities and also I could not manage time for activities and games. Therefore these recommendations played great role for my next lesson in order not to make many mistakes.

For my lessons i learnt different methods by getting information from the net and books as well as my mentor gave me different ideas and types of games that I could put in use them for my lessons because the which I chose incleded children who love games and are considered tactile and kinethetic learners. That's why I aimed to learn such more and more pedagogical technoligies that can make a lesson very effective and interesting for learners.

Especially, in my lessons I paid much attention to my warming up activities because, in my opinion, warming up activities have a basic role as the door of English world. I tried to find different games for the beginning of the lesson as warming up for my each lesson. I wanted to use these games for the beginning of teaching process they are: singing songs with pupils, doing different daily activities by telling them in the English language (In a imperative way I can say: run, jump, climb, go, swim, fly and etc.), using different adjective antonyms in a daily lessons (long-short, high-down, big-small and etc.) playing the game "Who am I" (in this game every pupil can introduce themselves with a name of animals such as, I am a bear, I am big and I am brown).

During my observation I found different interesting games that I could use in the process of teaching a language: broken telephone, missed animal(fruit),different matching tasks, find the differences between the pictures, stick the vegetable in a correct place according to the place of growing, race force, different group games. During my pedagogical practice I have realized we can encourage and motivate our young learners by the help of games.

Before beginning the pedagogical practice I waited with interests and when the active practice began I was very excited with my lessons, besides I learnt how to teach pupils by using various activities. I have found that the teachers of the school are very energetic and share ideas professionally. Especially, teacher observations are sometimes used among school teachers in order to develop their professional awareness.

Besides at the pre-defenses we talked with our dean about our practice and he gave us the most necessary suggestions and information about making a lesson plan. In addition, we talked about how to shift one activity to another, how to motivate our learners, how to identify their interests, learning styles and how to choose the authentic materials and activities according to their level and ages. These suggestions were very useful for my lessons. When I planned my lesson I took into consideration the given advice. I think by the help of them I could achieve good results.



All in all, I am satisfied with my pedagogical practice. During my pedagogical practice I learnt to teach young learners, how to use different activities, how to choose appropriate materials furthermore, I learnt methods of other teachers which are necessary for my research paper. I realise the job teacher is not easy profession. This pedagogical practice in my life played role as a bridge in my future job. In my opinion, I am ready for the next step and I hope to keep these experiences.
