Topic: “What number is your house?”
Aim and tasks of the lesson:
Educational aim: to teach pupils how to talk about number of the house
Educative aim: to talk correctly about family members, number of the house where live
Developing aim: to develop pupils’ speaking, listening and writing skills.
Task: Ask and answer about house numbers.
Technology of carrying out of learning process:
Form: reading, listening, writing, speaking,
Method: point and say, answer questions, report
Equipment: cards, pictures, a wall chart, handouts, tape recorder, a textbook, …
Step 1.
Introduction:
Greeting with pupils, checking the attendance of them :
The first teacher and pupils greet each other.
- Good morning, good morning, good morning to you
- Good morning, good morning
- I am glad to see you.
To define absent pupil teacher gives a ball to first pupil; he or she must tell his or her name and surname then throw the ball to second pupil and so on, like this action continues. In this way teacher signs to the register the absent pupil.

Step2 Reflaction and assessment
At the beginning of the stage teacher asks pupils to choose a card out of several in her hand. The “houses” and “flats” are written on the card and the cards face down.Each pupil takes a card and read it. Then they are divided into two: “houses” and “flats” groups. After arranging two groups teacher proceeds to the main part of the lesson. She asks pupils to look at the list of Uzbek and English alphabets on the poster and listen to the tape. The tape will be played twice so that pupils have more of the listening of the alphabets. Then pupils repeat after the tape the reading of the alphabets. If it is some difficulty, teacher can write the reading on the blackboard.
Step3. Procedure of the lesson
Activity 3a. Look and guess.
Objective: to practise inferring the meaning of new words from context pupils look at the pictures and guess the meaning of the new words. Ask some PP to say the meanings in their mother tongue to check understanding.
We say live in when we are talking about home and street. We say live at when we are talking about addresses. We say we live with when we are talking about the persons who live in our house/flat.
Activity 3b Pupils listen and repeat
Activity 4. Work in pairs. Copy, ask and complete.
Objective: to practise asking and answering about family and personal
information
PP work in pairs. They take turns to ask questions. The partner's answers should be written in the table as in the example. If the house/ flat number is more than 12, explain that they may pronounce each number separately, e.g. 365 — three, six, five.
Step4 Consolidation
Activity 5
Pupils work in pairs. Copy, ask and complete
Activity 6. Report.
Objective: to give controlled practice of the new vocabulary
Ask several PP to make a report about their partners using information from the table in Activity 5.
The next activity pupils continue to work in group. For example in this action one member of the first group comes to the blackboard and write the unscrambled word which is belong to one animal and the second group must write it correctly, then the member of second group comes to the blackboard and the action will be continue.
Pupils close their books and note-books. Teacher hands a sheet of paper to each pupil. They write dictation in the middle on the top of their sheet of papers. In this type of dictation teacher says the letters in alphabet and pupils must write them and the names of animals which are belong to each letter.
Step5. Reflaction and conclusion
1. Evaluation.
For evaluation teacher counts the stars which pupils took and she can also looks through and checks the ‘word dictation’.
2. Homework.
For homework pupils write about themselves. They can look at the text in activity 4 for help.
