Introducing myself
No matter how difficult it is to talk about ourselves, in some cases we need to introduce ourselves, our biographies, our family members, our friends, and so on. So I try to introduce myself. First of all, I want to talk not about my thoughts and ideas, but about my family, my parents, who play a big role in shaping my character. My family is not big. My dad is 45 years old, but he looks much younger because he loves to play sports. He is a coach, but he is well-educated and has experience in many fields. That’s why it’s always fun to communicate with him, he usually tells a lot of interesting stories. My mother is 45 years old. She is a handsome woman with sharp hair, black eyes. I admire his character. He is optimistic, sees his good side in almost everything, he is full of energy and enthusiasm. I really like his sense of humor. She is a housewife. He will need a lot of time and energy to take care of the house, me and my father. But I can say that he can do his job well. In addition, my father and I try to help him with household chores. For example, I shop and so on. I love spending time with my family. We often go for walks. I love walking the old streets of Moscow. That’s why I love traveling with my parents. My mom spends a lot of time in the kitchen - she loves to cook. We are always finding new recipes, trying them out, inventing new unusual names. We are also interested in music and everyone who came to our place praised our numerous collections. It’s absolutely impossible to name everything we can do together, so I think I can stop here. I am so sorry I didn’t see my dad’s parents because, according to my parents, they were wonderful and wonderful people. But I think my parents inherited their best qualities. They are wonderful people: kind, honest, have moral values and don’t break their promises. Even though they are not young, they fully understand me. They allow me to do almost anything, always give me good advice, and frankly, I don’t know what I would do without them. I am so happy to have such wonderful parents and of course I love them so much. Now, I think it’s time to talk about myself. My name is Javohir but my friends call me Noman. I am 23 years old. I am tall and not bad. I have an oval face and big brown eyes. Speaking of my character, I am friendly, kind, generous and honest. I have my likes and dislikes. I’m humble and sometimes shy, but I lose myself and start yelling at someone. But despite all this, I can keep it a secret, I will never disappoint my friends. I usually say what I think, so people around me are often upset, so lately I’ve started to hide my feelings. But when I realize that I am dealing with a person with a character like selfishness and dishonesty, it is very difficult to cope with the emotions.
HOBBIES AND ACTIVIES
A hobby or leisure time is a period of time spent outside of work and home activities. It is also a time to rest before or after mandatory classes such as eating and sleeping, going to work or running a business, going to school, doing homework or doing housework. Free time is a time when you can relax and forget about daily stress and stressful activities. These workouts can be our favorite hobby.
Nowadays, people work all day and rarely have free time to relax and do what they like. But if they have, they try to spend it the way they want. And there are so many options to make it perfect. There are so many things that can help keep you from getting bored. Any activity is better than doing nothing.
I would like to point out that there are two main ways to spend free time: one is to exercise (often outdoors), for example, football, swimming, hockey, skiing; and another way is to enjoy relaxing at home or in private places: reading, watching TV, knitting, working by hand. In any case, the hobby depends on the taste and everyone should choose it according to their personal preference.
As for me, I like to spend my free time both actively and passively. I really enjoy reading or watching movies because it is always fun, rewarding and helps to relax, especially after a long tired day. I also enjoy active sports, swimming, skiing or cycling from time to time, if possible. Sometimes you feel the need to avoid everyday worries and do something you don’t think about. In most cases, I can’t let myself do anything very unusual, so I travel long distances. It really helps to relieve tension and refresh the mind.
In general, how people spend their free time depends on culture and social status. For example, Americans ’favorite recreational activity now is to participate in experiences that they know are not real, they turn to imaginary worlds created by others, such as books, games, movies, and television. Mass surveys also show that the average amount of weekly leisure time for most people has decreased; the average amount of working time has now increased. This can be explained by the additional time spent on mobile phones or computers and the development of infrastructure (the problem of traffic stones in large cities). In addition, in recent years, people’s desire to spend time has also changed: more and more people are choosing solo classes instead of team activities.
MY HOBBY
Sport plays an important role in our life. Sport is health and our future. If you want to live long and if you want to have an interesting life, sport will help you.
For me sport became my hobby long time ago. I remember I started to do morning exercises when I was 6-7 years old. I like physical education and do all exercises with pleasure.
First of all sport gives me a lot of energy and makes me strong. You can swim, run, play football or basketball. If you do it regularly you will see how wonderful you can feel. My muscles work and I feel a big power inside of me.
Another good thing is that sport keeps me busy. Many teenagers prefer computers and mobile phones today, but I choose active life. I am sure these people will undErstand one day how many things they have missed.
Sport can unite people. Some of my friends like basketball, somebody choose swimming and someone wants to do jogging. Just imagine, how many new interesting people you can meet because you have the same hobby.
Just don’t do sport only if you want to follow the fashion. Today sport become more popular and people want to be fashionable. I think it’s not smart. Sport should become your habit. Then you will see that you do it and enjoy the process.
In general any kind of activity is better than doing nothing. There are people more quiet but I am not so. I am full of energy and I am ready to share it with my family and friends. And now I know that sport gives me this energy.
Hobby is something we need to enjoy doing this. I admire the people that reach a great success in sport. They are my motivators. I hope in future to become the motivator for somebody. But for this you need to love you hobby and to do it with pleasure every second.
MY DAY OFF
I go to the institute 6 days a week, so I take two days off - Saturday and Sunday. I am very busy during the week, so I love to relax on the weekends.
I get up early and rarely get up at 9am on a Saturday or Sunday. I love staying in bed when I don’t have to rush anywhere. We have a late breakfast at 10 and watch TV.
Usually we have something delicious: a meat salad, fried potatoes, chicken, pie or pie. If the weather is good, I don’t usually stay home, I and my dog go out. Most of the time we go to the park and play there. If the weather is rainy and gloomy, I sit at home and watch TV, listen to music, read a book.
After dinner we go to our grandparents or relatives or just fall asleep. Sometimes when my friends call me, we’re on a roller coaster next to an opera house
I love the roll so much, I think it’s a lot of fun. I love watching video and music programs in the evenings. I have a large armchair next to a blue shaded lamp in my room. If it’s cold, I like to sit there with a cup of coffee and read a book.
Sometimes I do something special on the weekends: go to an art show, a theater, a concert. I always go to bed late on Sundays and Monday morning is the worst thing of the whole week.
I love the holidays so much that I can relax and gain some energy next week.
MY DAILY ROUTINE
MY DAILY ORDER
I wake up very early in the morning, usually around six o’clock. I get up right away and go to the bathroom.
I take a shower, brush my teeth, blow dry my hair, and comb my hair. Then I go back to my room and get dressed.
"I'll have breakfast with my SISTER at 7 o'clock in the quarter."
My daily routine
At 7 I leave the house and take a TAXI or bus to get to the INSTITUTE. The incoming bell will ring until eight-thirty! So I was at that time
I have to be in front of the institute. It is very important not to be late in my daily work!
"Classes begin at 8:30 and end at 1:30 p.m."
on my way out of the institute, I either take a bus or a bus and drive me home. When I get home, I have lunch and do my homework right away.
MY BEST FRIEND
o doubt, everyone dreams of having a true and faithful friend but not all of us are lucky enough to find one. Frankly speaking, I'm rather sociable, that's why I have many friends. As for me I'm happy with my friends. Firstly, I don't have "fair weather" friends. Secondly, all my friends are very pleasant people, and I'm never bored with them.
My best friend isAsliddin . We study in the same class and though she doesn't live next door we manage to spend much time together. In appearance she is very attractive. She has an oval face, a straight nose, thick dark hair, big brown eyes and a pleasant smile. So people and, of course I, find her smart. Besides, Asliddin is known for her warm and friendly character. She is usually open-minded and interested in other people. More than that, she is considerate, supportive and responsible. I can always turn to her whenever I'm in trouble, and she never fails to help.
In general Asliddin is loyal, trustworthy, tactful and great at keeping secrets. For me it is very important that my best friend is an honest girl. I can fully rely on her and trust her everything. To tell the truth, we have never let each other down.
In conclusion I'd like to add, that my friend is an interesting person. She is well-read. Her favourite foreign author is Julian Rowling and her creation Harry Potter.
Besides, she is keen on modern music and enthusiastic wit
JOBS AND PROFESSIONS
As has been the case for many years, jobs, or forms of employment wherein employees perform a service or duty in exchange for financial compensation, play a prominent role in society. Furthermore, all jobs—even those of seemingly little significance—are important, as they simply wouldn't exist if their specific responsibilities weren't of value to employers (companies or persons that pay others for their work), customers (individuals who pay money for a product or service), and the economy generally.
Teachers, or educational professionals tasked with helping students understand certain subjects and topics, are especially crucial today. In short, teachers help their students to become qualified for their future careers.
Doctors, or medical professionals who specialize in providing health-related assistance to patients, are some of the most respected individuals in America and the world. It's the responsibility of doctors to help those who feel less-than-stellar to determine the underlying health issue(s) and recommend an effective treatment (or remedy to a disease, disorder, or condition).
There are quite a few types of specialty doctors in America (besides MD, which simply means "medical doctor"), all of whom can be referred to simply as "Doctor (Name)." Dentists (mouth/teeth doctors), dermatologists (skin doctors), and psychiatrists (mental-health doctors) are just a few examples of the many different types of doctors.
Additionally, nurses are medical professionals who help to administer doctor-ordered treatments to patients.
Police officers are law enforcement professionals whose job it is to protect citizens, solve crimes, and assure that rules and regulations are followed. Similarly, firefighters serve the public by responding to fires (and other emergency situations) and using high-tech equipment to extinguish these fires, while bringing any individuals who're in danger to safety.
Farmers maintain fields of crops (or vegetable/fruit plants) and/or collections of animals with the intention of selling these products as food.
Chefs/cooks prepare meals in professional settings, including restaurants, cafeterias, and other venues wherein food and drink are sold, for customers. Chefs are generally experienced in cooking and managing kitchens.
HOLIDAYS
In Uzbekistan, centuries of foreign influence prior to independence helped to form a unique community of people who are distinguished by their hospitality, tolerance, close-knit society and readiness to welcome others into their happiness.
Holidays in Uzbekistan are fun celebrations that include both secular and religious, local and international, ancient and 20th-century observances. With great exuberance, the people of Uzbekistan rise to each occasion with gifts, homemade treats, dancing and festive gatherings.
January 1st, New Year
New Year is one of the most beloved holidays on the Uzbekistan calendar. As preparations begin in early December, the weeks leading up to the New Year are very celebratory in themselves. City streets, transformed by New Year trees and glittering garlands, are filled with people rushing to buy toys, gifts, savory delicacies and enough sweets to last for days. Santa Claus and his granddaughter Snow Maiden can be seen at restaurants, shops and plazas throughout the holiday season.
As New Year is a family holiday in Uzbekistan, most people prefer to spend New Year's Eve at home with their family and relatives. Yet from mid-December until the Old New Year on January 13, celebrations are held with friends, colleagues and classmates in gatherings which typically include an entertainment program, special menu and various surprises. January 14, Homeland Defenders’ Day (Men’s Day)
On January 14, 1992, the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan were organized under the newly independent state, prompting the government to declare this date as Homeland Defenders’ Day.
Although not counted among public holidays in Uzbekistan, Homeland Defenders’ Day is a significant event. Celebrations involving the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of the Interior, National Security Service and other agencies are held in city plazas, where congratulations and awards are issued by the government.
In addition to being a professional military holiday, Homeland Defenders’ Day is widely observed as Men’s Day in Uzbekistan. At home, school and the workplace, men are congratulated with gifts and treated to special meals as a show of respect and admiration for their role in the family and their military service. TRAVELLING
Bukhara. The name alone evokes stories from the Arabian Nights and sounds like the end of the world at the same time. But there was a time when the fifth-largest city in Uzbekistan was in fact, one of the largest trading hubs in the world. At the height of the silk road trade in the 9th and 10th century, Bukhara was even the most important Islamic center in the world. Just one of the reasons it was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
With a history so vast, it is probably no big suprise that there is just so much to see and do in Bukhara. It took me three days to explore it all, though most travelers will only stay a day or two. Personally, I love to take things slowly – especially because of the intense heat (check out my full itinerary to find out more). Either way, here is my list
Putting legends aside, the Ark is home to a fabulous and well-preserved mosque and offers a spectacular view of Bukhara. There is also a tiny museum, but as most museums in Uzbekistan, it is very simple and not worth visiting by itself.
Probably the main reason why most tourists come to Bukhara is the Po-i-Kalyan complex. The complex is so impressive that even Genghis Khan spared the Kalyan minaret (back then one of tallest buildings in the world) after he conquered the city. The whole complex consists of a mosque and a madrasah and is one of the finest examples of Islamic architecture in the world
ANCIENT CITIES OF THE WORLD
In the study of the ancient world a City is generally defined as a large populated urban center of commerce and administration with a system of laws and, usually, regulated means of sanitation. This is only one definition, however, and the designation `City' can be based on such factors as the:
population of the settlement
height of buildings
density of buildings/population
presence of some kind of sewer system
level of administrative government
presence of walls and/or fortifications
geographical area of the settlement
or whether a `settlement' was called a `city' in antiquity and fits at least one of the above qualifications.
In the ancient world, very often a `city' describes an urban center of dense population and a certain pattern of buildings spreading out from a central religious complex such as a temple (though, frustratingly, this could sometimes apply equally well to a `village' or `settlement'). The word `city' derives from the Latin civitas although urban development pre-dates Rome by many centuries. Professor M. E. Smith of Arizona State University writes in The Sage Encyclopedia of Urban Studies, that, "The demographic definition, based on the concepts of Louis Wirth, identifies cities as large, dense settlements with social heterogeneity" (26), meaning that they are defined as large communities of people who have decided to live
HISTORICAL PLACES OF OUR COUNTRY
Uzbekistan is one of the fascinating countries in Central Asia and famous for its Silk Road cities of Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva. Twice the size of the UK, it has a rich cultural heritage and a long history steeped in tradition. You won’t be surprised to learn that it is home to four significant UNESCO World Heritage sites and six UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage listings. Another thirty are waiting in the wings on the Tentative List. From such a rich list of important places to visit, things to do and an enormous variety of sightseeing tours on offer, we present you with our pick of Uzbekistan Travel – Top 3 Places to Visit:
“Samarkand – Crossroad of Cultures” is the official moniker used to describe this city as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Samarkand conjures up images of ancient times and sounds almost mythical. However, this is no fairytale: Samarkand today is a lively city that cherishes its traditions. Archaeological excavations have revealed a history which dates back 3500 years; the town of Afrosiab was founded in the 7th century BC. The area was continuously inhabited and served as a melting pot of diverse cultures. It was conquered by Alexander the Great and Genghis Khan, was the sumptuous capital of the Timurid Empire and played an important role in the development of Islamic architecture and arts. You won’t want to miss Registan square, the Bibi Khanum and Gur Emir Mausoleums, the Shah-i-Zinda complex, Afrosiab & the Ulughbek Observatory.
The historic center of Bukhara has been an important base for Islamic theology and science for several centuries. Its well-preserved city center was recognized by UNESCO as an exemplary medieval city. City-planning, urban, economic, and scientific development in Bukhara had a large impact on the Islamic World in the Middle Ages. The earliest architectural monument is the tomb of Ismail Somoni dating back to the 10th century. For seven centuries up until the 16th century, it was the largest Islamic center for the study of Sufism with hundreds of mosques and madrasas or learning places. World-renowned scholar Avicenna was born near Bukhara and grew up there. While in Bukhara we’d recommend taking a stroll around the old city to savor its architectural legacy and imagine yourself bargaining as they would have done in medieval times.
Khiva is the first UNESCO World Heritage site in Uzbekistan was inscribed in 1990 noting its importance in the exceptional heritage of ancient Silk Road traditions. Itchan Kala, which literally translates as the inner part of the old city, is surrounded by thick mud walls. It contains 51 monuments and is although around 250 households still make their home inside, it feels more like an open-air museum. Looking down from Islam Khoja minaret or the city walls, it’s hard to imagine this is the 21st century. It is here in Khiva that the scholar AI-Khoresmi, the father of algebra, was born and introduced algorithms to the world. Take a guided tour to get to know the stories that feature in the history of this fascinating city.
