ВЛИЯЮТ ЛИ ПЕРЕБОИ С ЭЛЕКТРИЧЕСТВОМ НА ПРОИЗВОДИТЕЛЬНОСТЬ 
ПРЕДПРИЯТИЙ В УЗБЕКИСТАНЕ?

Аннотация: 
в данной статье рассматривается влияние перебоев в подаче электроэнергии на 
годовой объем продаж компаний с помощью Обзора предприятий Всемирного банка за 2019 год. 
Результаты исследования показывают, что, если бы компании в Узбекистане были обеспечены 
более надежным электроснабжением, объемы ВВП Узбекистана в 2018 году были бы выше по 
сравнению с фактическим уровнем. Наше исследование обогащает существующие эмпирические 
исследования, изучающие влияние перебоев в электроэнергии на производительность предприятий и 
экономический рост в контексте различных стран и регионов.

Introduction. 
Having an access to reliable and affordable electricity is vital to maintain basic living 
standards because most fields of human activity have become highly dependent on electricity. Being an 
essential resource for living, electrical energy has been vital for economic activities carried out in the 21
st
century as it determines countries’ economic growth and development [1]. Developing economies rely 
heavily on the availability of adequate power supply as electricity is needed to carry out business operations. 
In contrast, a loss of such an important input affects each and every industry, family, individual and the state 
[1].
According to United Nations [2], 13% of population across the globe lacks an access to electricity, 
while 3 billion people in the world use wood, coal, charcoal, and animal excrement for cooking and heating. 
In many countries, reliable and affordable electricity energy has been remaining to be major challenge as 
household connections are increasing [3]. To address these challenges, United Nations Sustainable 
Development Goal 7, particularly target 7.1, focuses on ensuring universal access to affordable, reliable, and 
modern energy services [3], [4]. As IEA et al. [3] reported, a third of countries with electricity shortage 
experienced more than one weekly electricity loss for over four minutes in 2017. Meanwhile, a basic and
