Introduction. 
Currently, Uzbekistan is the most densely populated country in Central Asia, with 
34.3 million people, accounting for over half of the region's total population (World Bank, 2020). This 
creates demographic dividend of the country with great number of working age population. Current situation 
creates various opportunities for economic progress and at the same time, numerous challenges related to 
unemployment and possible brain drain. As reported by the State Statistics Committee of the Republic of 
Uzbekistan (2021), 203.7 thousand people departed from Uzbekistan in 2020, while 191.2 thousand 
immigrated to the republic. Given the fact that borders were closed during the COVID -19 pandemic, 
migration numbers increased in comparison to 2019. Hence, the roles of application proper talent 
management systems are becoming crucial as never before.
Literature Review. 
Uzbekistan is at a crossroads in terms of economic, social, and technological 
development. Investment in economy and human capital can lead to increased growth in the economy and 
well-being (Berde, E. & Kurbanova, M., 2020). Even though, there is no standard solution for capitalizing on 
the current demographic dividend, Uzbekistan may learn from the experience of other countries that have 
effectively addressed talent management and overall human resource management issues of a skilled labor 
gap and immigration of high level employees.
HR managers in many developed countries use talent management digital platforms to track 
employee performance and their career development. Introduction of artificial intelligence and digitalization 
in different business areas including human resource and talent management is taking place in Uzbekistan as 
well. Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan PP-5234 "On the introduction of a special 
mode for application of artificial intelligence technology" was announced on August 28, 2021. The 
resolution requires the establishment of a domestic ecosystem in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), as 
well as the essential conditions for researchers and developers, as well as legislative control of the sector. 
Several pilot projects in the following nine sectors will be implemented in 2021-2022: banking, agriculture, 
finance, taxes, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, transportation, energy, and e-government. The scheme is valid 
for 5 years and it can be extended within the framework of the “Digital Uzbekistan 2030” strategy.

Methods. 
The present study is based on secondary research, which consists of analyzing several 
materials published between 2001 and 2021 on the currents trends of talent management and key methods of 
how to improve current situation related overall human capital management and as a result compan y 
sustainability.
