INTRODUCTION (abstract of DSc thesis) 
The aim of the research 
is to reveal the participation of the direction of 
classical literary traditions reflecting the works of Uzbek Jadids and the role of 
traditional symbols in the composition of literary works in defining the originality 
and mastery of the writer. 
The object of the research work
are the works of Uzbek Jadid writers such 
as Mahmudhuzha Behbudiy, Abdulla Avloniy, Ishokhon Ibrat, Abdurauf Fitrat, 
Hamza Hakimzoda Niyaziy, Abdulla Kodiriy, Abdulhamid Chulpan and 
Muminjon Toshkin reflecting the influence of the classical literature. Some works 
by Siddiqi Ajziy, Sidqi Khondaqiiti, Botu and Elbek were analyzed due to the 
subject’s needs. 
The scientific novelty of the research 
work is as follows:
- the role of the classical artistic rules, which is one of the main factors of the 
development of new Uzbek literature, in formatting the peculiarities of the jadid 
writers;
- theoretical foundations of the literary tradition, the problems of inheritance 
and literary influence, and the scientific position of the Jadid scholars in relation to 
the classical heritage are shown; 
- 
in the works of the Jadidic writers, the level of ghazals’ use, the usage of 
smaller genres and forms of musammat, as well as the novelty on the genre’s 
poetry were identified; 
- the role of traditional, actively used in poetry symbols and artistic imagery 
in the structure of contemporary texts was defined; 
- the causes of Jadid Poet's appeal to aruz and the classical rhyme system and 
the level of poetic mastery and peculiarity in their use were described; 
- in the new Uzbek prose, such genres as short stories, stories and travelers’ 
notes have been analyzed in the context of the literary heritage and the synthesis of 
the renewal principles with the special features of classical prose revealed; 
- the place and the role of methodological aspects and the poetic peculiarities 
of the classical prose were reflected, and their participation in the formation of the 
Uzbek novel is shown.
