I. Infra Trend in UZBEKISTAN
1. Infrastructure S.W.O.T
The construction industry of Uzbekistan has high potential for future development, and many projects
are carried out through international organizations such as the Multilateral Development Bank (MDB).
Strength: The government's strong will to reform and open up, efforts to join WTO, opening up the
foreign exchange market, attracting active foreign direct investment, is also causing a wind of change in
the construction sector.
Opportunity: Through the entry of foreign companies, the construction field is also becoming globalized
away from the existing construction form by globalizing and introducing new technologies (such as
skyscrapers).
Weakness: Many foreign companies are entering the market based on the possibility of development
and geographical advantages of Uzbekistan, but they are suffering from insufficient market research, lack of
understanding of the local business environment, and cultural differences.
Threat: During design, construction, the differences between international standards (ASTM, BS, etc.)
and local standards (GOST, KMK, etc.) should be identified in advance.
Due to the nature of developing countries, there are several problems such as increased exchange rate
volatility, administrative system problems, and lack of professionalism in accordance with international
standards of local engineers. Therefore, sufficient market research is required.

and ensuring energy security

5. 18 thermal, solar and wind power plant with total capacity of 7,331MW to be commissioned until
