ABSTRACT:
This publication argues for the need to ensure the digitalization of industrial enterprises in the context 
of ensuring sustainable development. The article presents theoretical provisions on ensuring the 
sustainability of industrial enterprises, indicates the key role of sustainability in the determination of the 
system of economic security of economic entities. Result. The system of big threats to the sustainable 
development of Russian industrial enterprises in the digital era is substantiated. It is shown that the 
lag in digitalization can be considered among the key threats to economic security. It is shown that in 
terms of digitalization, Russian industrial enterprises lag significantly behind competitors from the 
G7 countries, where digitalization is considered as a universal aspect of increasing competitiveness 
and sustainable development simultaneously from an environmental and economic point of view, 
which is ensured through the formation of a corporate culture of an innovative type. The priority 
directions of digitalization of the activities of industrial enterprises in Russia are presented. Universal 
recommendations for promoting digitalization are given. Applicable at enterprises of various sectors 
of the domestic industry. Conclusions. The study made it possible to conclude that digitalization 
is a strategic source of influence on the formation and/or strengthening of the sustainability of the 
development of Russian industrial enterprises.

ктуальность исследования обусловлена необходимостью осуществления дальней-
ших цифровых преобразований российской промышленности в целях обеспече-
ния конкурентоспособности предприятий и их продукции на внутренних и внешних 
рынках.
Нарастающее отставание от зарубежных конкурентов, в том числе от экспансии 
продукции китайской промышленности, по технологическим аспектам организа-
ции производства и сбыта, качественным характеристикам товарной продукции и 
по другим аналогичным аспектам даже в отрыве от трендов цифровой эпохи рас-
сматривается в числе угроз экономической безопасности предприятий промышлен-
ности и выступает фактором, усиливающим системно-структурные диспропорции 
в базовых областях [14]
