19. Why are Venus studies important for scientists on Earth?
A) because our atmospheres are similar
B) because scientists want to test their equipment
C) because scientists want to predict agricultural problems on Earth.
D) because scientists want to trap less heat radiation on Earth.
20. According to the passage
A) The Venus studies are believed to be important to the understanding of possible adverse effects on the Earth’s fossil fuels
B) Venus’ atmosphere traps much less heat radiation than does the Earth’s because of its higher percentage of carbon dioxide.
C) Venus has a relatively thick atmosphere
D) The high surface temperature of Venus is due to an atmospheric greenhouse effect caused mainly by a blanket of carbon dioxide.
21. What does the atmosphere of Venus hold?
A) a greenhouse effect B) carbon dioxide C) heat radiation D) energy in the form of sunlight
22. Choose the incorrect sentence.
A) Venus’ atmosphere traps much more heat radiation than does the Earth’s due to the lack of other gases except for carbon dioxide in its atmosphere
B) there has been the theory that the high surface temperature of Venus is due to an atmospheric greenhouse effect
C) Venus suffers from the greenhouse effect because its atmosphere consists of more than ninety percent carbon dioxide
D) 96 percent of the Venus’ atmosphere is not carbon dioxide.

Hypothermia is defined as a body core temperature below 35,0°C (95,0°F). Symptoms depend on the temperature. In mild hypothermia, there is shivering and mental confusion. In moderate hypothermia shivering stops and confusion increases. In severe hypothermia there may be paradoxical undressing, in which a person removes his or her clothing, as well as an increased risk of the heart stopping.
Hypothermia has two main types of causes. It classically occurs from extreme exposure to cold. It may also occur from any condition that decreases heat production or increases heat loss. Commonly this includes alcohol intoxication but may also include low blood sugar, anorexia, and advanced age, among others. Body temperature is usually maintained near a constant level of 36,5-37,5°C (97,7-99,5°F) through thermoregulation. Efforts to increase body temperature involve shivering, increased voluntary activity, and putting on warmer clothing. Hypothermia may be diagnosed based on either a person’s symptoms in the presence of risk factors or by measuring a person’s core temperature.
