Objectives


Interactive learning is a hands-on approach to helping students become more engaged and retain more material. With or without a for of technology, interactive learning helps students strengthen problem-solving and critical thinking skills. By the end of our lessons they should know about animals and actions.
Unlike memorization, interactive teaching encourages students and teachers to collaborate to foster learning. In addition, interactive teaching activates the brain's natural analytical abilities.




    1. LITERATURE REVIEW


This action research plan is devoted to learn different interactive ways, methods and techniques used by teachers in teaching vocabulary for elementary student who learn English as a second language and find out new innovative way with the help of teachers, counselors and students.
Students' vocabulary grows throughout their lifetime through direct and indirect learning. You can adopt direct teaching methods (https://www.prodigygame.com/main-en/blog/teaching-methods/) such as:

  • Introducing specific word instruction geared toward increased comprehension and vocabulary.

  • Leading wordplay activities that build upon previously learned words.

  • Encouraging students to read often to boost their word knowledge and language development.

  • Using the dictionary to teach word meanings and asking students to use those words in sentences during class participation.

  • Utilizing Cognate Awareness (ELL) (https://www.colorincolorado.org/new-teaching-ells) to teach kids similar words in English and other languages, such as Spanish. Cognates are two words in different languages that have similarities including spelling, meaning, and pronunciation.

  • Making speaking skills a priority when learning vocabulary.

  • Reading stories to your students. It helps them to question and learn specific words. Books that contain pictures may help reinforce the 'bigger' words for your students.
