Introduction
The past, according to some, ought to be forgotten. But history can occasionally teach us something. Everything that occurs today resulted from history in the past. It is impossible to separate someone's present from their past. Some people may be inspired to write a narrative, novel, or piece of poetry as a result of their past and experiences. It used to be common practice for people to write about their lives in diaries. With the advancement of technology, many people now blog about their lives. For instance, the former soldier wrote about his involvement in a war and his experiences there. Additionally, a lot of public figures write their biographies.
Edgar Allan Poe is known for his short story "The Black Cat." It is a tale of terrible murder and domestic abuse. It is the confession of the unnamed man who kills his wife, his pets, and himself. The Black Cat depicts the story of a man who cherished his pet dearly, but due to the effects of drunkenness, he evolved into a violent individual. Pluto, a black cat he kept as a pet, was slain by him. Some readers could be tempted to believe that Edgar Allan Poe and his narrators are one and the same because Poe is known for being a fascinating person and for having a reputation as a frightening character. [1]
I wonder if Poe had the same tendencies as the character in the story. Poe's works tend to be more gothic. Whether it is related to his life or not, I am curious. We are aware that Poe was not a murderer. He is said to have loved cats and appeared to have a great relationship with his wife. I believe that this story has certain elements of Poe's life. His propensity for loving his wife or cat as well as the widespread perception that he was an alcoholic served as the basis for "The Black Cat." We can determine the impact of the author's life and history on the literary work by evaluating this.
