Scattered site step-down housing for parents who are HIV+ and who are continuing treatment for substance abuse. Maximum stay of two years. Participants agree to participate in treatment and recovery services as a condition for the housing assistance. The program is intended to be continuing support for men and women who are HIV+ and who are coming out of inpatient treatment and reuniting with their children who are under age 18. The housing assistance is in the form of rent assistance at scattered site apartments.

Eligibility is based on the child’s age and household income. Some programs are free. Others charge fees on a sliding scale, based on family size and income. Immigration status or a lack of Social Security numbers or Birth Certificates are not barriers to enrollment. CRT also works with families who are homeless, children in the care of the Department of Children and Families (DCF) and those in foster care.

CRT offers affordable, high quality, licensed child care and education for more than 1,100 children from six weeks to five years of age. Centers use the nationally-respected Creative Curriculum, so that all children enter kindergarten ready to learn and succeed.
