understood as "a socially determined process of exchanging thoughts and feelings 
between people in various spheres of their cognitive, labor and creative activities, 
implemented mainly through verbal means of communication". Thus, communication 
includes mainly the characteristics of interpersonal interaction, and communication is 
assigned an additional value — information exchange in society [Grushevitskaya, 
2002]. 
As G. M. Andreeva writes, "the term' communication 'itself has no exact 
analogue in traditional social psychology, not only because it is not quite equivalent 
to the commonly used English term 'communication', but also because its content can 
be considered only in the conceptual dictionary of a special psychological theory, 
namely the theory of activity " [Andreeva, 2001: 35]. 
From a pedagogical point of view, communication is "the most important 
environment for spiritual, social and personal manifestation of a person, a means of 
achieving mutual understanding between people". 
The most important for pedagogical research is "the position that communication 
must first of all be considered as an integral phenomenon, which is an informational, 
normative and cognitive process, a form and means of self-affirmation and self-
realization" [Penkova, 2001: 22]. 
Communication, according to some authors, also acts as "a way of maintaining 
the vital activity of a person as an individual" [Passov, 1991: 13]; as "the 
transmission of some information, intentionally or involuntarily sent by the sender 
and perceived by the recipient" [Maslov, 1998: 7]. 
In our study, we define communication as communication, a process of 
interaction between active individuals, groups or communities, within which there is 
an exchange of activity-defining components, such as activity, information, 
experience, abilities, skills, etc.
