What are young people’s opinions about new food?
I think they have quite positive verdicts about new food. Young people’s body require a lot of intake of nutritions. Therefore, they tend to get hungry quite often and try to taste any new food to satisfy their appetite.
Do you like to cook at home?
Oh yes, I love it. Truth to tell, I cannot cook well but I have always been passionate about cooking my own meal. Sometimes. I even ask my mother to leave me some cooking stuff and let me enjoy the process. Because, when I cook, I imagine myself as a chef which was one of my dream jobs as a child.

This is one of things I hate most in my life. Perhaps, this is because I don’t have any cooking abilities. I cannot even peel a potato and tend to cut my index or thumb finger when I try to do so. Constant burnings of my hand, and hairs found on plates always repel me from cooking.
More and more people are unwilling to cook. Why?
Due to readily available canned and tinned meals, for sure. It’s very easy today to buy almost any meal from supermarkets at a reasonable price. People scale time they may spend on cooking themselves and buying half-ready meals. Preferring to save time and energy, people usually and up with being unwilling to cook at home.
Is it expensive to eat out in your country?
It depends on where people are to eat. There are some restaurants in my country where even a lunch table will cost an arm and a leg. But, generally, the costs come in medium levels of expense, because they are mostly set considering average income levels of the middle class of local citizens.

How often do people in your country go shopping?
People of my community like to go shopping. They simply have to. I mean, Uzbek families are usually big, consisting of on average five or six people. Therefore, they visit grocery shops or garment markets almost every month.
What kinds of places are popular for shopping in your country?
For adults, say over25s, open-air markets are preferable. They sell products at relatively cheaper prices, which makes it one of the best options for people of these ages. They like to economize money. But pre-teens and teenagers who tend to be obsessed with fashion and brands, luxurious boutiques and such kind of places are popular, because they offer more stylish clothes.
Is shopping popular in your country?
Oh, absolutely. It is very popular with Uzbek people. Whenever I go to markets or department stores here in Tashkent city or even in the regions, I tend to see massive crowds staying in lines in long queues just to buy something. I think such a crowd can highlight the popularity of shopping in my country.
Why is online shopping so popular these days?
I think the main reason for this is its convenience. In other words, people now can order almost anything without even standing from the sofa. With one click, we can have our desired thing at our door steps withing an hour or so.
Do you think online shopping will replace shopping in reality?
It’s highly possible, I think. Markets tend to occupy vast area of land. So, these may be demolished one day, leaving their space for the construction of new apartment blocks to overcome shortage of housing and decrease homelessness. Even today, we cannot always find people trading in person in some developed countries, since online shopping has created an opportunity to erect other premises instead of the bazaars.
