and higher education institutions of the world, including the National Institute on 
Drug Abuse, University of Rochester (USA), Medico Centro Teknon , Quiron Ma-
drid universitet clinic (Spain), Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuro-science 
(England), Universitet of Melbourne, Sentral Clinical Hospital of Vienna (Austria), 
Dasarang Global Alсohol Clinic (South Korea), European Psychiatric Association, 
The center of psychological aid in Bali (Bali), the National Research center on 
Drug Addictions (Russia); Uzbekistan Republican Drug Addiction Centre, Tash-
kent Medical Academy (Uzbekistan).
A number of scientific and practical results of treatment, prevention and re-
habilitation of patients with alcoholism and drug addiction have been achieved, as 
well as, on a par with conventional methods like
detoxification, pharmacological 
treatment and psychotherapy, sanatorium treatment (Medico Centro Teknon) has 
been offered; patients who have not undergone psychological consultations in the 
medical program have demonstrated decrease in drug abuse (National Institute on 
Drug Abuse, University of Rochester); due to long-term biological, psychological 
and social rehabilitation programs, prolongation of therapeutic remissions as well 
as improvement of quality of life (National Institute on Drug Abuse, University of 
Rochester) have been achieved; better social adaptation in the form of family re-
covery and in job placement have been noted (The center of psychological aid in 
Bali). 
In the world studying clinical features of alcoholism and drug addiction, di-
agnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and personal-biological, social and psychological 
factors in the priority areas of research the following researches have been con-
ducted as well as forecasting the consequences related to factors of premorbid pe-
riod; the development of modern methods of detection of molecular genetic and 
immunonological changes; improvement of the quality of diagnosis, prevention 
and treatment standards.
