Introduction.
The development of industry and economy in 
developed countries largely depends on the further improvement of 
vehicles and systems, which should increase population mobility, 
increase freight and passenger traffic efficiency, increase road safety, 
reduce environmental pressure and provide convenience for drivers and 
users of vehicles. Studies show that 90% of road traffic accidents are 
caused by driver distraction or negligence [2]. Brake control plays an 
important role in traffic safety. Currently, almost all cars are equipped

with automated brakes. Cars without a driver-operator have come into 
use in practice. The main functions of the autonomous automatic brake 
controls are to warn the driver in the event of an emergency while 
driving, to ensure safety in independent operation. However, the 
application of certification testing methods for such autonomous 
automatic brake controls has not been sufficiently developed. One of the 
most pressing issues is the creation and improvement of methods for 
testing the compliance of cars equipped with autonomous automated 
systems. 
The aim of the study is to improve the method of determining the 
quality of vehicles that provide frontal collision avoidance based on the 
analysis of test methods of autonomous automatic braking in 
emergencies. 
The safe stopping distance between two vehicles moving in the 
longitudinal direction is determined as follows.
