  The places of Surkhandarya for travelling

Surkhandarya is the south part of the Republic. It shares borders with Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan. Surkhandarya region was founded on March 6, 1941. The central and southern part of the area is flat. Located in the north of Hissar Range, to the west and north-west, in its spurs - Baysuntau mountain (4425 m) and Kugitangtau (3,139 m), located in the East Ridge Babatag (up to 2290 m), in the south - the valley of the Amu Darya River. 

There are a lot of historical and architectural monuments around the southernmost Uzbekistan city of Termez. The city is the centre region of Surkhandarya province.

HAKIM AT-TERMEZI MAUSOLEUM

On high shore of Amu Darya, on the South-West of the site of ancient settlement Old Termez one can see blue domes of restored nowadays one Sufi order sheikh burial vault. This architectonic monument is the mausoleum of the «wise man from Termez» - Hakim at-Termezi, whose full name is Abu Abdulloh ibn Hasan ibn Bashir. He was the great theorist of Islamic Sufism, the outstanding scientist and the dervish order founder.

KIRK-KIZ FORTRESS

Kirk-Kiz Fortress was built in IX-X c AD. It is located in Termez area, in Namuna village. This building is nothing but residence of samanid emir, who loved to be far from the noise and dust of a big city in Summer time, and with this aim built for himself this construction. The names of architects who created architectural poetry of the fortress just with usual clay are unknown, and time mills “ground” the biggest part of the building. But even today it is possible to see remained fragments of the beautiful paint on the arches.

OMONXONA

A special attention in Uzbekistan is paid to the issues of strengthening reproductive health of the population.

Medical facilities and sanatoriums are being constructed and equipped according to the modern requirements. A new health resort building with 50 beds was put into operation in Omonxona village of Boysun district.

New and modern buildings: two canteens for 200 seats, purification and water storage structures were constructed in implementing the first stage of construction of this medical institution at the State joint stock company Uzbekistan railways.

Introduction in operation of the new railway enhanced the effective use of medical sources in Omonxona village and created more conveniences for patients receiving treatment here.

Water of “Omonxona” mineral spring is rich with ions of sulfate, magnesium and nitrogen. At present, patients with hepatitis, gastritis, diabetes and other diseases come here to take treatment from all over the country.

SANGARDAK

At a distance of 190 km from Termez in Sariasia district located Sangardak waterfall. The water falls from a height of 140-150 meters along the river grow wild trees: fig (fig) tomariski, grapes and many other plants. Particularly striking Sangardak waterfall in spring, summer and fall.

Sangardak waterfall (height of 140-150) attracts travelers with coolness regardless of the summer heat and untouched wildlife.
