Abstract:
This article describes the efficiency of using internet resources in teaching process.
The object of the work is the process of teaching English.
Key words:
methodology, computer information technologies, non-standard solutions,
authentic material.
The global Internet creates conditions for obtaining any information necessary for students
and teachers, located anywhere in the world: regional geography material, news from the life of
young people, articles from newspapers and magazines, necessary literature, etc. As an information
system, the Internet offers its users: New information technologies in teaching English, creating
their own homepage and placing it on a Web server, search engines (Alta Vista, Hot Bob, Open
Text, WebCrawler, Excite), reference directories (Yahoo!, InfoSeek / Ultra Smart, Look Smart,
Galaxy) These resources can be actively used in the lesson! e-mail (e-mail) teleconferences (use
net) video conferencing conversation on the network (Chat)
Students can take part in tests, quizzes, contests, competitions held over the Internet, correspond
with peers from other countries, participate in chats, video conferences, etc. Students can receive
information on the problem on which they are currently working in the project. This can be a
joint work of Russian schoolchildren and their foreign peers from one or several countries. The
main goal of studying a foreign language in secondary school is the formation of communicative
competence, all other goals (educational, upbringing, developing) are realized in the process of
realizing this main goal. The communicative approach involves teaching communication and
developing the ability for intercultural interaction, which is the basis for the functioning of the
Internet. Outside of communication, the Internet does not make sense - it is an international
multinational, cross-cultural society, whose livelihood is based on the electronic communication
of millions of people around the world speaking at the same time - the largest conversation
in terms of size and number of participants that has ever taken place. By engaging in it in a
foreign language lesson, we create a model of real communication. Communicating in a true
language environment, provided by the Internet, students find themselves in real life situations.
Involved in the solution of a wide range of significant, realistic, interesting and achievable tasks,
schoolchildren are taught to spontaneously and adequately respond to them, which stimulates the
creation of original statements, and not the stereotyped manipulation of language formulas. The
computer is loyal to the variety of student answers: it does not accompany the work of students
with laudatory or disapproving comments, which develops their independence and creates a
favorable socio-psychological atmosphere in the lesson, giving them self-confidence, which is
an important factor for the development of their individuality.
The Internet is an excellent vehicle for keeping up with the latest developments in the world.
In this way, the Internet can be used to transform the classroom into a news agency and turn
your students into first-class reporters. This type of activity is suitable for high school students,
as it includes extensive reading and the art of interpretation, fluent speech. Almost, all important
newspapers in the world have their own web pages. Students can be encouraged to visit the MEDIA
LINKS page () for links to a variety of publications to find
out where and what newspapers exist.
The rapid introduction of information processes in various spheres of life requires the
development of a new model of the education system based on modern information technologies.
It is about creating conditions for the disclosure of a person’s creative potential, the development
of abilities, the upbringing of the need for self-improvement and responsibility.
The use of computer technologies in teaching, in particular, foreign languages, has significantly
changed the approaches to the development of educational materials in this discipline. Interactive
learning based on computer training programs allows you to more fully implement a whole range
of methodological, didactic, pedagogical and psychological principles, makes the learning process
