Today, in development of digital age, books are no longer mean just a stack of papers bound together

Today, in development of digital age, books are no longer mean just a stack of papers bound together. Instead due to the rise of interest in the idea of electronic books, they have been replacing the place of traditional books. While e-books can be convenient and available at any time, I still believe that the benefits of printed books outweigh the drawbacks.
The main benefit of electronic books is that they are very portable, this means unlike printed books, readers can carry thousands of e-books with themselves wherever they move and readers do not waste their time in ordering or purchasing printed books from the bookstore. Millions of e-books can be safe and store in a minimum memory of smartphones and laptops. Furthermore, e-books are very convenient to read. For example, even if you are in unappropriated place like in a crowded bus, still there is no any difficulties in reading them.
On the other hand, both version of books can be seen as the same in comprehending and remembering the information, however, there are still certain disadvantages, too. Continuous staring at the screen of the electronic device not only worsen eyesight, but also may negatively influence on reader’s mental health as well. In addition, notifications on the e-books and screen touches might overwhelm a reader and make it more difficult to focus while reading. For example, a recent study found that readers who read a short mystery story on e-format were significantly worse at remembering the order of events than those who read the same story in paperback.
In conclusion, although e-books could create a facility in reading anywhere and anytime, spending too much time on reading e-books from gadgets may have an adverse effect on health, as well. Therefore, in my opinion the downsides of electronic books outweigh the upsides.
