Hockey India to provide aid to 61 players 

Hockey India (HI) will provide 61 unemployed 
players, including 34 women, with financial 
assistance amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. 

Under the initiative, each player will be provided 
a sum of 10,000 rupees to help them return to 
sporting activities. 

The objective of the initiative is to provide basic 
financial relief to the athletes. 
Mali President Ibrahim Boubacar Kita resigns 

Mali's President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita has 
announced his resignation amid a military coup. 

He announced his resignation after mutinous 
soldiers fired shots into the air outside his home 
before detaining him. 

The dramatic development comes after more 
than two months of regular demonstrations 
calling for him to step down three years before 
his final term was due to end.


Swadeshi Microprocessor Challenge - Innovate 
Solutions for Aatmanirbhar Bharat was launched 
on 18 Aug 2020. 

IIT Madras and Center for Development of 
Advance Computing have developed 
2 microprocessors named SHAKTI and VEGA using 
Open Source Architecture. 

The challenge seeks to invite innovators, startups 
and students to use these microprocessors to 
develop various technology products. 
Exports of agricultural commodities increased 

Exports of agricultural commodities during March 
to June 2020 has increased by 23.24% compared 
to corresponding period in 2019. 

The exports of Agri commodities during March to 
June were Rs 25552.7 cr against the export of Rs 
20734.8 cr during the same period in 2019. 

The agricultural exports as a percentage of India’s 
agricultural GDP has increased from 9.4% in 2017-
18 to 9.9% in 2018-19.
