Abstract. The world lacunaria in linguistics has been in the core of the growing attention since the second half of last century to the phenomenon of new areas of linguistics, in particular, it led to the rapid development of lacunology and lacunar phenomena in the years of linguocultural studies, psycholinguistics, cognitive linguistics, intercultural communication and to the subject of research in scientific fields such as translation studies ​​A central problem of research has been the comparative study of two languages ​​, the national-cultural peculiarities, defining the linguistic possibilities of languages.. This article aims to examine this phenomenon by analysing the usage of lacunae as foreign words in the literature. The article provides information on the fact that lacuna is a subject based on general and specific methodological principles. At the same time, the methodological basis of the research is described in details; the methods have been extensively analyzed.
