Activity 1

Obiective: to enable PP to talk about the Earth and the Moon

In pairs PP talk about the Earth and the Moon. When they finish, you may want to ask several PP to tell the class their ideas.

Obiective: to practise reading for gist

PP read the second part of the story silently. Teacher encourages them to use the Wordlist.

Activity 2b

Objective: to practise reading for specific information PP read the story a second time and find information about Dr Hastings, and again you can ask them either to read the sentences or say what they have found. The numbered lines can help.
