Nowadays young people who need employment have to compete with older people for the same 
job. What problems does this cause ? What would you suggest as a solution ?
It is undeniable that in this era of stiff competition , older population is the biggest obstacle in the 
career path of inexperienced job seekers . This growing competitiveness between both sides arises 
certain complications in the society , however some measures can be fruitful to curb this problem. 
There are some problems which are directly linked to this alarming situation.The first and most 
troubling effect would be on young unemployed graduates, who may feel demotivated and 
frustrated and they get deprive from the job .Senior citizens have more experience by which they 
tend to outshine young adults.Without a decent job , it would be difficult for the young ones to 
survive which can further lead to unrest in society.
Secondly, if senior employees constitute the 
largest proportion of the company’s staff ,then it could lead to decline in productivity and efficiency 
of the firm as older people are less energetic and enthusiastic than young blood .Finally, due to 
advanced technology , golden agers may find it difficult to cope up with latest and sophisticated 
technological gadgets due to which extra efforts will need to made by company like by investing 
more resources to train them. 
Meanwhile , this situation can be improved by certain initiatives by government.
First and 
foremost solution is that state should provide sufficient social benefits for aged people.For instance 
government should allocate more money for welfare schemes like pension etcetera which 
guarantee the basic needs of retired people. Moreover , there should be a proper reservation 
system like fixed vacancies can be set for youth and older people . Also government can fix a clear 
retirement age .
Finally , regime should also encourage industrialization by creating more jobs and
starting some skill development programs for their self employment . 
In conclusion , no doubt there is cut throat competition between both age groups which lead to 
numerous issues for youth and companies, these can be lessened by some immediate steps by 
government and individuals.
