Demand and production of consumer goods are rising at an unprecedented rate in today's materialistic world. This trend is exacerbating enormous environmental pressure. This essay will look at the reasons behind this issue and propose a number of solutions.
One of the main causes is the infamous plastic material. It has become so widespread that the world without it is quite unimaginable, toothbrushes for medical machinery are all made of plastic. From making it (made from refined crude oil) to eventually largely improper disposal, it is a major biohazard all the way through.
The growing demand for consumer goods is a cause for human exploitation of natural resources. Plastics and related products used for packaging are the cause for land degradation.
