The aim of the lesson:

Educational: - to learn how to say birthday months

Developing: - to enable pupils to use the preposition of time "in" with months; - to enable pupils to speak and write about presents

Sociolinguistic competence: -to raise awareness of the similarities and differences between celebration of birthdays in different countries

Linguistic competence: By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to: - say birthday months; - speak and write about a present.

Equipments: textbooks, handouts, technical aids, , a blackboard and a piece of chalk, lap-top

The course of the lesson:

I. Organizing moment: Greeting.

Good morning dear teachers, good morning to you

II. Asking homework:

- to revise the names of seasons, months and to recite numbers from 1 to 30

Pre lesson activity

Activity 1. Play “when is your birthday”

Objective: to warm up and energise, dividing into groups

Pupils should stand according to the order of the months of the year

Activity 2. Play “working on words” and “ hot ball”

Objective: to revise months and seasons

With the help of ball pupils translate words

Activity 1 Listen and sing.

Objectives: to introduce the topic of the unit; to warm up.

Play the DVD. After the pupils listen once, ask what holidays are mentioned in the song. Accept any reasonable answers. explain if necessary: you can translate the name of the holidays

Activity 2b Look, read and match.

Objective: to introduce the topic of the lesson

pupils open their Workbooks on Page 64 and read the holidays. explain that they must match the numbers of the pictures in 2a and the holidays as shown in the example.
