Horner's scheme

• Horner's scheme (or Horner's rule, Horner's method) is an algorithm for calculating the value of a polynomial, written as a sum of monomials, for a given value of a variable. Horner's method allows you to find the roots of a polynomial, as well as calculate the derivatives of a polynomial at a given point. Horner's scheme is also a simple algorithm for dividing a polynomial into a binomial of the form x − c. The method is named after William George Horner.
