Multiple Intelligences 
- a theory developed 
originally by Howard Gardner which says that 
rather than thinking of people as ‘intelligent’ 
or ‘unintelligent’ we should recognise that 
we have a number of intelligences (musical, 
mathematical, interpersonal, etc), and 
that different people function more or less 
efficiently in these different spheres, 
murmuring 
is when teachers tell their students 
to practise saying things ‘under their breath’
- so they all try out saying something new very 
quietly and in their own time.
