VII. Learning outcome
• Students taking up sericulture are expected to have a thorough knowledge of
silkworm morphology, races, biology, and all the practices of rearing for silk
production.
• They should be well versed with the pests and diseases of silkworm and their
management.
• With practical training it is expected that students develop entrepreneurial skills
for sericulture or link up with industries to sell cocoons for silk production or
guide farmers engaged in silk worm rearing/ sericulture.
