THEME: MODAL VERBS: CAN (MODAL FE’LLAR: CAN (QOBILIYAT))


Ingliz tilida modal fe’llar bo’lib, ular gapda mustaqil ma’no bermaydi. Ular fe’lga qo’shimcha modallik ma’nosini beradi xolos! Ulardan so’ng asosiy fe’l kelib, har doim birinchi shaklida, hec qanday o’zgarishsiz ishlatiladi! Modal fe’llar orasida eng keng ishlatiladigani: CAN hisoblanadi. Can modal fe’lini quyidagi holatlarda ishlatamiz:

1. 
   Qobiliyatni ifodalashda (ability):
   

I can speak English! I can swim.

2. 
   Biror kimdan biz uchun biror bir ishni qilishini iltimos qilganimizda (request). Bunda so’roq shaklida keladi:
   

Can you open the door, please? Can you give your book, please?

3. 
   Biror bir narsaga yoki ishni bajarishga ruhsat so’rashda (permission):
   

Can I have a piece of cake, please? Can I go out, please?


Can modal fe’li barcha shaxslar uchun bir xil ishlatiladi. Can modal fe’lining inkor shaklida undan keyin NOT yuklamasi kelsa, so’roq shaklida CAN egadan oldinga o’tkaziladi:
I cannot walk. I can’t walk.
Can you speak? Can she sing a song?
What can you do? I can play football!


Can faqat hozirgi zamonda ishlatiladi. O’tgan zamondagi qobiliyatni ifodalash uchun ioucld va qolgan zamonlarda esa be abcle to modal fe’llari ishlatiladi:
My grandfather could speak Russian. I couldn’t talk until I was 2 years old.
I will be able to speak Arabic in a month, in shaa Alloh. I will be able to get 7+ from the IELTS, in shaa Alloh.
