THE ROLE AND IMPORTANCE OF EXERCISES IN TEACHING FOREIGN
LANGUAGES TO STUDENTS
ABSTRACT
This article provides an explanation of the semantic meaning of the word exercise,
its conceptual basis, presentation of the exercise in teaching aids and the specific
features of the exercise in teaching materials, the role and significance of the exercise in
the development of language, speech, basic competencies from scientific and
methodological sources, and also analyzes scientific views and opinions of scientist-
methodologists.
