Answers to the questions of the third round:
1. A great number of painters depicted apples and transformed their paradise or-
chards into gardens full of apple trees. In the canvas «Spring» by S. Botticelli 
(1445–1510) the action is taking place in the heaven orchard under the apple trees’ 
canopy. The main heroine – Spring – is coming out of this amazing garden to-
wards the spectators. Although Spring is in its beginning, the apple trees are stud-
ded with red apples as if they promise the result that Spring will bring to Earth.

monk».
3. In the Bible apple is the symbol of the Fall of people and it is depicted in the 
hands of Adam or Eva. The apple was a forbidden fruit, but Eva tasted it and made 
Adam do the same thing. As a result they were turned out of the Paradise to the 
Earth. Adam’s apple is a kind of a ledge or a cone or knob on the front side of the 
throat that only men have. According to the legend, it’s a piece of an apple that 
stuck in Adam's larynx.

5. Apple of the royal rank or the Orb is a gold ball, decorated with precious stones

mentioned during V. Shuisky coronation.
6. Pectin is a unique substance contained in apples. Pectins are able to absorb 
heavy metals and to remove them from the man’s body. This ability is highly 
appreciated today when atmosphere and all the living space of a person is polluted 
with toxic wastes and exhausted fumes. Pectin can also decompose fats and with-
draw extra cholesterol that is very important for atherosclerosis prophylaxis.
