Mark Zuckerberg was born in 1984 in White Plains, New York. He is best known for cofounding Facebook. In 2007 Zuckerberg became the youngest self-made billionaire. His net worth (as of March 2021) is $103.6 billion. Zuckerberg was named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine. Forbes has also named him in the top ten most powerful people.
Mark Zuckerberg attended Harvard. He did not finish school but in 2017, he was given an honorary degree.
He was raised in a Jewish family. At one point, he identified as an atheist but has returned to religion. He is married to Harvard graduate Priscilla Chan. Together, they have two children.
Mark Zuckerberg and his wife have been recognized in the list of 50 most generous Americans for their contributions to charity.
Martha Stewart: Living
Martha Stewart was born in 1941 to Polish parents, Edward and Martha Kostyra. She was the second of six children.
When she was 10, Stewart babysat children of famous New York Yankee players Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra, and Gil McDougald. Stewart began modeling and at the age of 15, was featured in a television commercial for Unilever. She continued to appear in television commercials and in magazine ads.
Stewart’s mother taught her to cook and sew. She learned canning and preserving from her grandmother. Stewart’s father liked to garden and he passed on his knowledge in the area to his daughter.
Martha Stewart founded Martha Stewart Living Onimedia and was successful with a variety of business ventures. She was involved in publishing, broadcasting, merchandising and e-commerce. She has written many books and is the publisher of the popular magazine, Martha Stewart Living. She has also hosted two television shows: Martha Stewart Living (1993-2004) and Martha (2005-2012).
Merv Griffin: Media Mogul
Mervyn Edward Griffin Jr. was born in 1925 and passed away in 2007. He had a long career as a singer, game show host, talk show host, and game show creator.
He started as a radio and big band singer. He later hosted his own talk show called The Merv Griffin Show. After having hosted many games shows in the 1960s, Griffin created Jeopardy! And Wheel of Fortune through his television production companies, Merv Griffin Enterprises and Merv Griffin Entertainment.
His family was Irish American and Griffin was raised in a Catholic home. He started singing as a choir boy and then earned extra money as a church organist. He started singing on the radio at the age of 19. He created his own record label, Panda Records and his popularity grew with his hit song in 1950, I’ve Got a Lovely Bunch of Coconuts.
Griffin’s talk show, The Merv Griffin Show was on the air or 21 years and it won 11 Emmy Awards.
